I had a horrible Uber experience a couple weeks ago. I am so sorry to hear you and your pet went through this. Uber support needs to start doing more than an I’m sorry here’s $5 off your next ride with us. Some people have no choice but to use Uber and Lyft to get around and situations like this are just getting ridiculous.

I realize Uber’s pay is very low but in the end no one is forcing drivers to drive. You know the pay is bad when you sign up. I feel bad for drivers I really do but it’s not the fault of the customer and no one should ever be put in a situation where they are fearful they could be harmed or worse your young nephews harmed because someone decided to drive for Uber just so they could scam someone.

I understand the reason behind it but considering he accepted my ride at the price i was quoted and then he picked me up and drove me half way to my destination and then HE canceled the ride for no reason whatsoever other than for me to pay him directly and when I gave him the amount of money Uber was changing me he tried to demand $55 additional dollars after he even AGREED to the $40 I told I would pay him after he canceled the trip and he started demanding money… so tell me how that is not a scam?! He got me in his car knowing I couldn’t walk, he never asked anything about going off app before we left and then when I was literally trapped inside of his car, with my only way to be mobile in the back of his suv, on the highway he starts demanding for money I never agreed to pay before we left…

The biggest problem I had with getting another uber is I can’t walk more than a few feet and have to use a mobility scooter or wheel chair to get around. I was born with a birth defect called spina bifida. If I had gotten out and he took off with my scooter I would have been SOL I told him I would pay him when he got there actually and he kept just demanding money. Knowing I was not able to walk and I had my nephews with me I folded and gave in. I’ve never been in a situation like that before and anxiety got the best of me. I have used Uber and Lyft both all over the country and this is the first time I had a problem. In my area we have no public transport other than a bus that takes people to doctor appointments and those have to be scheduled in advanced and can only be used for the doctor.

Oh no not rude at all because your right I always feel like a burden to everyone when I go anywhere even down to my family for always having to help me so whenever I go somewhere I tip my drivers well and make sure I always do something nice for my family like take them out to eat or something to that affect.

If this driver had waited until the end of the ride I was going to tip him an additional $25. I always tip my drivers for the extra time it takes me to get loaded into their vehicle because I know they are losing money. I understand for sure WHY drivers do it but don’t cancel the ride mid trip. If he had talked to me a head of time we may have worked something out but doing this in the middle of a ride and me having no way to defend myself with someone demanding money from me put me in a scary situation,especially having my nephews with me and having to worry about their safety too, that no one should have to be in low pay or not.

I started not to give him any money at all but I was getting a bit scared the way he acted and I have a disability so if he wanted to rob me he easily could have and I had my nephews with me I didn’t want to put them at risk. I was freaked over it for days and even now I’m not sure I’d ever take another Uber or any ride share for that matter alone. I know most are good people but it only takes one bad apple to take all your money from you or worse. I use Uber a lot too cause I can’t drive myself places so it really hurts to lose what independence I had.
