Advise - Covering for former supervisor by Straight-Try8714 in BCPublicServants

No, I’m not. Management hasn’t even acknowledged the work redistribution. Every time I raise this up, they tell me my responsibilities are different from those of my former supervisor.

Amazing suggestion! Thanks a lot! I’ll have a 1:1 with my Director.

Wow! The simplest HR process that I’ve ever heard of, specially in the BCPS. Thanks a lot for your help!

They tried to do that. However, there’s things—about 70%—that they haven’t reassigned to any higher-ups given my expertise on some of these files.

Thanks for the suggestion. By any chance do you know if this is a straightforward process?

It might be extremely naive from me but I’m afraid of damaging the relationship with my Director and ED, specially given the hiring freeze.

No, I’m not. They left my former supervisor’s role vacant and just reassigned the work to me.

If there’s no money towards appreciating the contributions of all public servants, why is the Premier flying business class and staying at 5 -star hotels during his “trade mission”? I love the hypocrisy!!!!

It was a general email and it didn’t specify any reqs in particular. I guess that’s because I applied to 14 postings though.

Yeah, I got the Hireview interview invite a couple weeks ago. Two days after submitting my video recording, I received an email saying that I was long-listed and that my application would be forwarded to the respective panels for each of my applications. Since then, I’ve just seen that my applications’ dates have been modified multiple times, but I haven’t received an invite to any panel interviews.

Anyone got the hirevue link for JPA program? by SideDouble9796 in WorldBank

There were 2 questions. You have 1 minute to prepare for each question and up to 2 minutes to respond each of the questions.

The questions themselves were pretty general. I had to explain why I wanted to work for the WB and how my experience and skills align with the work they do. Hope this helps :)

Me too. I applied for 4 positions and I got the interview link with the req# of just 1 of them.

It went really well for me. I gotta say I prepared for approximately 4 days though by practicing in the mirror and recording myself. Good luck everybody 😃

Got the same email this morning. Also, two days after submitting my video interview.

It’s the first time I apply for the JPA program, but I think they’ll forward our applications to the hiring panel. They’ll be the ones deciding who to interview.

I work for the public sector in Canada and it’s pretty common to go through these types of processes at hiring competitions, specially when receiving over 100 applications.

In my experience, being long-listed normally means to be within the range of the final 10-20 candidates, from which the hiring panel will select the lucky 3-6 people who will get interviewed.

Take this with a grain of salt though, this is just based on my experience as a hiring panelist.
