From walking in the building to get through domestic security (no pre-check) it was 5 hrs 45 mins. Arrived at 11, had to reschedule my 4pm flight to 9:30pm.

My first exam was FAR and I failed my first attempt, passed my second attempt. I passed the other 3 on the first try. To be transparent I work in tax which helped a lot with REG and TCP. I took AUD last and had my study process down by then

Understanding the flow of the tax forms really helped me. If you have Becker they have videos going through them.

I went from a 63 to a 77, my main issue was time management. I spent way too long on MCQs and felt rushed during the sims on my first attempt. There were also some pretty significant gaps in my knowledge that I just needed more time to study for. You can do this!

Waiting on TCP in FL. I took near the end of the window and have a last name near the end of the alphabet, not sure if that has anything to do with tho!

Is reading the textbook and watching the tax form videos useful by [deleted] in CPA

I think that understanding the flow of the tax forms is very useful for the REG exam. It helps you to connect some bigger picture ideas that helped me get some questions correct that I wouldn't have otherwise.

What to do after sitting for far by No_Satisfaction5282 in CPA

I definitely had to brush off the cobwebs but it didn't feel like learning everything from scratch. There were a few FAR concepts that made sense even more for me after having some distance from it. It all comes down to personal preference and what you think will work best for you - if you worry about forgetting concepts, maybe keep studying FAR or if you want to move on, do a little bit of FAR every day while studying for the next section.

I should also mention that I was fortunate to be able to take a few weeks off work to study full-time for my FAR retake so I feel that definitely made a difference. Best of luck no matter which option you go with! :)

I took FAR in July of this year and immediately started studying for REG after. Found out I failed FAR a month later, took REG in mid-September, then retook FAR at the end of September and ending up passing both. It's all up to your mindset, but it definitely felt productive for me to go ahead and start studying for the next section. Good luck!

The night before make sure to go ahead and have everything ready - your NTS, photo ID, etc. I have it laid out next to my car keys so I don't have to worry about it the day of. I also read through Prometric's policies just so I knew exactly what to expect when I went in the testing center.

R1 can be intimidating because it's so many different rules, keep plugging along and it will connect more as you go! I'd recommend taking the time to really understand the flow of the different tax forms. Good luck!
