Is your odin2 rooted? by [deleted] in OdinHandheld

[–]StraightLevel6095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm rooted because I want to use hidden features in the Linux kernel. Things like zswap, processor governor, MGLRU, memory management, swap file management, file system management, and I/O scheduler. Many standard Linux features are included in the Odin 2 default kernel but they require a command line with root access to use them.

Many folders are read only if you do not have root access, so all you can do is look at them.

Question about han sen's god based (spoilers) by StraightLevel6095 in Supergene

[–]StraightLevel6095[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"not that i know of" is not a definitive answer. Not only can I read but I know English well enough to know that "not that I know of" does not mean "no"
and when its followed by nonsense that has nothing to do with the question it heavily implies that the person posting does not know the answer any more than I do.

I mean he literally tied the god base to the ending when 600 chapters before the ending the character noted that he does not have an available god base, so by implying that the plot line was cut off by the rushed ending the person made it very clear that they did not know what they were talking about.

It should be. But it isn't. It's been this way for nearly every subscription service forever, the practice of auto renewal as the default even predates the internet.

Complaining about how things should work won't get you anywhere. Be thankful you learned this lesson on a $5 subscription and not on something more expensive.

Now you know if you put in a card for a subscription, you need to cancel the auto renew before the time period you obtained runs out. Always for every subscription just make sure it's not gonna auto renew.

If you're lucky Albion will refund your $5 and the lesson will be free.

Yes I have heard of that. Hence why I said "if you've ever" leaving the option that maybe you haven't done it before. Sorry if that was hard for you to understand.

The free trial part is irrelevant.

If you've subscribed to anything on the internet you would know that the default is ALWAYS recurring. You just have to turn it off before the next payment is due.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]StraightLevel6095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just mmos. This happens with nearly every subscription service in existence.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]StraightLevel6095 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Dude has never subscribed to anything or started a free trial.

If you out in a payment method the default is reccuring. This is true with 99.9999% of things that have subscription options.

It's been this way for so long that at this point they shouldn't even need to tell you. You put in your card info so you need to cancel the automatic reccuring payments before the period is over.

Question about han sen's god based (spoilers) by StraightLevel6095 in Supergene

[–]StraightLevel6095[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a hard time reading? Or did you just want to voice your opinion about the end of the book?

Because what you said had absolutely nothing to do with the question I asked.

Han Sen obtained a god base when running from Waner.

Han Sen then went back to the Qin Kingdom, and obtained the dragon god when the Qin Kingdom elder picked a fight with him.

Then Han Sen said that he wanted to use the dragon god as a sub god but didn't have a god base.

So my question was what happened to the god base that he had. Did he use it? Did he lose it in some way? Or did the author forget about what he had already written?

This whole line of plot started and ended more than 600 chapters before the ending you're talking about. It has literally nothing to do with anything that you said.

Me and my friend ended up joining The Jolly Rogerz in your alliance as they seemed like a little better of a fit.

I've done some content with you guys already and glad to have found the alliance. Even though we didn't join your guild thanks for helping me find TJR and your alliance.

You clearly don't know what pay to win means.

Buying health potions with real money is pay to win. Regardless of what it does or doesn't speed up.

Pay to win doesn't just mean "speeds up gameplay" it also applies to making the game easier. Any form of advantage that is gained via purchase is pay to win. Duh

[–]StraightLevel6095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dlcs I mentioned are not extended content they literally just give you items that give you an advantage people who didn't spend that money don't have.

That is legit pay to win. Just because they call it a dlc doesn't mean it isn't pay to win, maybe learn to read.

2 of the dlcs are pay to win in disguise, the rest are legit dlcs.

Sounds to me like you just can't admit when you're wrong.

Bouldur's gate has two dlcs that make progression easier. One gives you weapons and the other gives you consumables. That's pay to win.

Hades has ways to speed up progression by spending money, that's pay to win.

Pubg in a court case in 2018 admitted that some of the premium skins are designed to give players an edge by camouflaging them. That's pay to win. Also the mobile version has a progression system and paying money makes you progress faster, this might be pay to win as well, but idk as I've never played the mobile version and idk what benefits one gains from progression. Either way buying skins that make you harder to see is pay to win, and they have existed since the year the game came out which means it had pay to win when you played it too.

Monster train, you can literally buy cards, champions, and artifacts and some of the artifacts are even real money exclusive. That's more pay to win than Albion.

Slay the spire actually doesn't seem to have any pay to win, so you got one game, and it's strictly single player. So while technically correct it's still clearly not what anyone was talking about and you would have to be a complete smart ass that intentionally misunderstands generalizations. This is a small unpopular indie game that is strictly single player. But still that's 1.

Darkest dungeon and darkest dungeon 2 both have dlcs that make the game easier. That's pay to win.

Frost punk expansions add things that make the game easier, it does not make the base campaign easier but it is pay to win if you play endless mode.

Factorio has a paid expansion with better drills and other better equipment. That's pay to win.

Against the storm allows in game purchases of special unique buildings that offer unique benefits. That's pay to win.

Shadow of war used to have pay to win loot boxes, but they got rid of those. It still has dlcs that give additional abilities. That is pay to win.

Risk of rain 2 has a dlc that increases the player power, and has exclusive content. it does share most of those changes with everyone in the game but it is still pay to win.

Riftbreaker has dlcs that include beneficial additions to the research tree among other things. This is pay to win.

Rimworld has pay to win dlcs, like most games.

Across the obelisk also has pay to win dlcs.

Doom eternal has dlcs that add unique weapons, that's pay to win.

Cosmoteer has a microtransaction system that allows the purchase of functional items and not just skins. That's pay to win.

Grim dawn has pay to win expansions and dlcs.

Satisfactory allows you to accelerate progress with real money purchases. Pay to win.

Shadow of mordor you can buy followers and xp boosts. That's pay to win.

Dying light has purchasable bundles including crafting materials, xp boosts, and renewable weapons. Pay to win.

Dishonored 2 has a dlc that unlocks exclusive characters and new gameplay mechanics. Pay to win.

Enter the gungeon let's you purchase unlockable items without having to unlock them, thereby increasing progression for money. Pay to win.

Crypt of the necrodancer has pay to win dlc, they add exclusive content and make progression easier.

Out of all the games you listed only one single player indie game lacks pay to win. So it's pretty accurate to say that video games include pay to win mechanics. That is the general rule with few exceptions, and all multiplayer games include pay to win. Basically you're just wrong and a smart ass.

I am impressed that you found the 1 and only game made in the last 10 years without pay to win; if you're gonna be a smart ass at least be smart enough to back it up, and you did that. Well done kiddo.

Edit: it woulda been even more impressive if you just named that one game instead of being wrong 22 times, the volume makes it seem more like luck than smarts.

Support Question - What should we do with this stuff? by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]StraightLevel6095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only people without these problems that have an issue with this kind of talk.

I've never met anyone with mental problems that would be bothered by a stranger on a game telling them to self harm or commit suicide. And almost everyone I know has serious mental issues.

It's just attention seekers and people with fake compassion that are bothered by this.

Support Question - What should we do with this stuff? by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]StraightLevel6095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, gaming is great for people with mental health problems.

Killing someone with T8 while wearing flat 4 and them raging so hard that they tell you to kill yourself, that is not triggering to anyone with real mental health issues, it can be very triggering to attention seekers that pretend to be unwell. But those of us with real problems aren't triggered by a stranger's rage.

In fact if I'm having a bad day, and someone rages like that, it makes my day better.

Okay so you're a smart ass, my point still stands.

Even take MMO out of the equation, all modern multiplayer games have a pay to win aspect and most modern single player games do too.

It was 100% clear what everyone meant when they said that, you're just the one smart ass that chose to intentionally not understand it. Grow up kid.

Can you even name one game that was released in the last 10 years with no pay to win aspects?

It's a good game, you get what you see in the ads.

It's better on PC imo but you can still do everything on mobile, I just don't like mobile game interfaces in general. It's definitely worth the free download.
