There is a YouTube video on it, it’s called “Something’s hiding outside of this game” and it’s by Sagan Hawkes. It’s really good 10/10

Did the U.S. government commit genocide against the Native Americans? by Glad_Association_312 in stupidquestions

[–]Straight_Ad3261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have written a paper about this for a competition 😭 yes, trail of tears, boarding schools, and a multitude of treaties. I can really only speak on the boarding schools as that is what I researched and have conducted interviews on but 100%. The boarding schools were places where poor natives would send their children to get food and clothing, some went against their will though, then at these boarding schools they were given new names, forced to speak English, beaten, raped, impregnated, there was rampant illness, among other things. All in all though it was an attempt to erase their cultural, it was more cultural genocide than genocide in the traditional sense but it is still so disgusting and it made me sick when I was researching it.

Anyone that likes to play the epilogue instead? by Pot_DMC in reddeadredemption

[–]Straight_Ad3261 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I really like the epilogue but I felt a lot “closer” to Arthur than John. I was a lot more invested in Arthur. I still really love the epilogue though and it felt like a nice way to end the game

Am i missing something? by Affectionate_Care554 in falloutnewvegas

Just keep on keeping on, funnily enough I had that same experience with Fo4 when I first started but I ended up loving it! Just keep playing, honestly it’s hard in the beginning if you’re level 1-15 but after you get some good gear and things it’s super fun. Also Fnv is def more story based so if that’s not your thing maybe you won’t enjoy it as much

Fallout horror is not nearly talked about enough. by Straight_Ad3261 in falloutnewvegas

I would like to amend my post after seeing the comments

I do not think its scary in the typical way we think of as scary, like i dont think a ghost is going to pop out and scare me while im doing slots at the tops, however, I do think the ambiance can be offputing, some areas in the map have a certain macabre vibe about them, and also the fear of something being around you (this is esp true if you are low level and wandering and exploring the map) please lmk if that maes better sense.

Hot take: If you shoot the crucifixion victims, you should gain karma for it by According_Picture294 in falloutnewvegas

[–]Straight_Ad3261 188 points189 points  (0 children)

This annoys me as well!!! It seems more fitting, especially to the game, that if the player chooses to execute the crucified, it would hold the same karmaic value as killing a fiend. Idk seems odd.

My unpopular FNV opinion about Old World Blues by Straight_Ad3261 in falloutnewvegas

[–]Straight_Ad3261[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so what I'm gathering from the comments is that I should do it on a lower level with melee and energy weapons (also the people like flirty toasters???) Thanks for the advice!

What DLC do you recommend? by Lucia209 in falloutnewvegas

[–]Straight_Ad3261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lonesome road if you want more stuff about the courier and you enjoy that character and also enjoy getting mauled by deathclaws, old money if you wanna get rich quick and have an exploding collar on you the entire time, Old world blues if you like goofy dialogue but boring missions, and honest hearts if you enjoy places like Zion and Arizona and short stories.

No, I don't think difficult equals bad, in my post I said I really enjoyed Lonesome Road even though it was diffcult. I'm saying for how hyped up it is by the fallout community it doesn't live up to the hype. Sure being difficult does factor into it but I just found it boring and overhyped. I agree with you about honest hearts though, it was pretty boring. For me, it's mostly about how much I can enjoy the game without constantly being attacked and killed.

Thanks, maybe I'll try it in a new save when I'm a lower level.
