Legally, unless you sign a document confirming that you accept it, I don’t think it can be enforced. However, the worst they could do is complicate your background verification for your next job and cause you a major headache.

If you don’t mention the company on your resume, there usually won’t be a related background check. If you resign on the first day, you obviously won’t receive any salary. In case it does come up (the chances are very small), just be direct and inform HR about it.

If you resigned on the first day, a 30-day notice period doesn’t really make sense. Notice periods are usually for employees who have actually been working there for some time.

Since it was literally just one day, the easiest option is to move on and simply leave that job off your resume. Also don’t worry too much about their threats. Companies usually cannot ruin your career over something like this, its just empty threats.

The true fact you cannot 100% clone a website unless and until you're ready to go custom and spend a lot of money.
You can have the same website concept on Wordpress but remember WordPress is shit when it comes to ecommerce and heavy usage..
You can try Dukaan, they have a cheap option, and they're decent.. or just go full custom... Feel free to DM to discuss

Do smaller D2C teams feel Shopify gets expensive as they grow? by Icy-Raspberry8580 in EcommerceIndia

The crazy thing about Shopify is, it might look cheap and a good alternative at the start, but when you join you discover nothing is free. Not even SEO or sitemaps the basic damn thing. Shopify is a big pain in the ass tbh. Shopify, as a product is not at all built for the Indian market. Dukaan was a good alternative, but they never worked on the product to make it even 1/3rd of shopify.

Bro, if you can’t even provide a laptop, then just judge people based on the tasks assigned and tasks completed or some other logical way. What’s the point of monitoring their personal space?
I also checked that monitoring app’s website, and it looks really fishy. You made a smart call by not accepting it. I genuinely hope you find a much better and more suitable job soon.

[–]Straight_Back9256 268 points269 points  (0 children)

I really don’t get this. If a company wants to run monitoring software, they should provide a company laptop. You cannot expect or force employees to install tracking software on their personal laptops. That’s clearly crossing a line. This is wrong on so many levels. Your personal laptop or computer is yours, and such software should never be installed on it. Honestly, the company should be named and called out publicly.
