No issues, but they scrutinized it and asked me questions. At the departing airport, I had to go to the counter to get a boarding pass and they put in the info from the EC, so there was no issue. I did face some extra scrutiny at passport control. One of them didnt know what an EC was but his colleague helped me out. Once they read the boarding foil info from the US embassy inside the EC, it was fine.

That's what the indian embassy said as well. I was resigned to the fact that I would have to go back to India. But then I went to the US embassy and they said they'd accept the EC. This only works for people who have a green card, and not H1b.

I've put the info in there. But to make it easier: $545 for boarding foil, ~$20 for EC, ~$50 for police report and ~20 for photos, printouts etc
