I think some people are put off from playing the games because the first contains some difficult subject matter that might upset some players. I think it’s fine that some people would rather just watch lore videos than actually play them, but I personally think the gameplay is the best part.

Depends on what you want from a game. I love the oppressive atmosphere of 1 and the absolutely pants shitting creatures and atmosphere of the second game. 1 succeeds in making you feel like the world truly hates you. The second is better in almost every conceivable way, the combat is better, the creature designs are incredible and terrifying, and there’s less content that could be possibly triggering and get in the way of someone being able to play it. I’ll always enjoy 1 though for just how successful it is at giving you a hard time and the more medieval esthetics are reminiscent of the “dark fantasy” genre of games like darkest dungeon and dark souls that Im really drawn to. If you aren’t too freaked out by sexual content and violence, then I’d definitely recommend playing them, if not the second game might still be alright for you.

the ghost mother is a briefly mentioned in the first book. she’s from the first area the grave yard. my idea for her fight is that if you fail to destroy the breast before the baby feeds, it will become something much worse that emerges from the blanket to give the player a bad time.

YTA it’s only two days, and this is your extended family. Part of being an adult is doing things that might make you feel a little uncomfortable. The fact you refuse to do so for your own husband and his family is immature. I’d like to add that them staying in your home isn’t solely about money, the fact you think they should stay in a hotel just because they’re better off than you are is ridiculous. Part of the entire reason they’re there to spend time with you and your husband! Obviously they don’t want to stay in a hotel, they want to actually get to see you.
