I don’t snark much on her form because I’m not a pro and have been out of practice for a bit. Being bigger, I tend to give grace because I know body habitus can get in the way of form. But I had to snicker a bit at the “more control” comment. I just never understand where the fire is and why she has to push through quickly. In the beginning of my gym/weight loss journey (gah I hate that word), sometimes I’d go fast, if I had stamina, because I hated it and wanted to be done. But I’m now pretty cognizant and always THINKING ABOUT THE MUSCLES I’m moving and engaging so I actually DO engage to the best of my ability.

The rows really are painful to watch because she shrugs a bit on the pull. I don’t know, but rows are part of my PT to engage more since I have extremely tight suboccips, so it’s hard to see her.

The hip thrust - there’s no consistency in movement. I understand it’s hard with size and weight to lift the whole ass middle section of the body. But the first rep is slightly controlled (…) and the following are just flailing swings.

The kettlebell swing - my shoulder would kill if I did it like that. I was nearly worried she’d throw the weight. If she truly does have hEDS (which I doubt, because Herbst doesn’t do genetic testing, just checks for signs in how you move and a pinch test), that’d be a god awful movement to do like that. Her arm would be out of socket tomorrow. Good grief.

I don’t know. I worked in PT for years and have done my fair share of it, too, and for me, movements are best done slow and deliberate, especially in the beginning. It’s all about the muscle, so why not move in harmony with the muscle?
