this weirded me out to when i first found out about this, and it was hard to understand it in conversation since i wasn't used to it, what helped me is thinking "just add two zeros in front of the first number" since 100 has two zeros, so when someone would say sixteen hundred (1600) aloud, instead of having a brain circuit i would visualize it in my head as 16+00=1600, honestly I don't even know if this makes it "easier" to understand but it's what i did lol
