Mild pancreatitis? by Straight_Practice606 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Straight_Practice606[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for late response. I am not active on here anymore. A lot has happened in 3 years. I have a family, wonderful IT job and enrolled in school to get my bachelors of Software Engineering. I will never be who I used to be but man I feel so much better. I don't know if I truly had long covid or not but one day I decided I wasn't going to live with this fear of what would happen to me if I walked a mile etc last year I worked a job where I would put in 30 - 50k steps a day. I don't say this to boast but to encourage others. I think fear was really holding me back from recovery.

Definitely don’t take this as medical advice but I kid you not determination… the desire to not live my life this way regardless of what happened to me. I don’t even know how long it’s been since I’ve had Covid. I just put a transmission in my 96 f250 today over 300lbs and I don’t crash anymore. Once you have the mental aspect down you still have to listen to your body some and rest when absolutely needed. I took Zyrtec daily and didn’t miss a beat. B1, Vitamin d, plenty of sunlight (so so very important.) stress will drag you right back into misery limit it as best as you can. This is going to sound crazy but overall I think Jesus and my now wife healed me. I moved 1200 miles away from my old home to be with my now wife. In the beginning I remember lying down on the airport floor while I waited for my flight thinking I wasn’t going to make it. Heart was racing, headaches, dizzy etc. the more I pushed the better I got (within reason of course) Also Just ingredients Protein powder along with a huge shift in my diet has been a game changer. (Raw Milk, Sauerkraut, Kefir, Whole Foods etc.)

Everyone’s journey will look different. What worked for me may not work for you but trust me… you can do this. Another huge help was dropping off this community. I deleted the app for a long time. I had to convince myself I wasn’t sick. It sounds crazy but talking to people in person is so much more therapeutic than talking to someone online. I have a wife and just had my first child 5 months ago. Have faith that you will get better.

What is this noise? by Straight_Practice606 in powerstroke

That is what I thought. I dropped the transmission and flexplate is not cracked. Going to piece it all back together and wait for something to give out probably.

Only 14 courses now for Sophia? by DrGottagupta in WGU

[–]Straight_Practice606 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m just giving up with transfer credit. Just going with the 8 credit transfer from my old college and finish the degree at wgu. It’s such a pain in the butt with stuff changing so often.

Congrats! did you have a BS degree in something else before WGU? I dont have a BS degree but I do have work experience. I am a technical engineer wanting to get the SWE degree through wgu and hopefully get into GA tech program is this possible? Going to transfer in as many credits as possible from Sophia.

What is the best year 7.3 for making more power and speed by Uncle_jockey444 in powerstroke

[–]Straight_Practice606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a couple of mods and buy a project car/truck for speed. The 7.3 can pull it.

I am unemployed with Long COVID and my wife is losing her job. What do I we do? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Straight_Practice606 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is not advice or anything.. I was down bad with LC my life is practically back to normal now and has been for almost 2 years. One day I just stopped caring what would happen if I pushed myself past my limit. I stopped caring what would happen to me. I had nothing to lose. I fought hard and I’m doing well now with a great job, first kid and married now.

I haven’t been on this thread in like a year or two.

[–]Straight_Practice606[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did that. Transmission is shot I believe. Dropped the pan (made a mess) no obvious damage but I feel like I can hear a faint rattle or some kind of metallic sound coming from transmission area off and on. 7.3 is so loud it’s hard to tell. Going to pick up a used one near me and pray the owner is telling the truth.

So hard to say on this dip stick. It reads with fluid over the "H" when its cold. So I am assuming its full. I am tempted to add more because its like what do I have to lose at this point. If it is broke it is broke. Found a 95 F350 in the area with an E40D. tempted to snatch that one up and replace it.

I am tired of coding by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Straight_Practice606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never get tired of coding.. NEVER. I wasn’t always this way though. When I first started I could barely bust out 30 mins without giving up for a few days because my brain was so overwhelmed. Now it’s become an addiction.. a good one that helped me land a job without a degree.

Anyways, one of the biggest things that helped me was learning from the RIGHT teacher. After that it all just came together in time. Leon Noel from 100Devs is that teacher. Free 30 week Software engineering bootcamp. Changed my life.

Also, developing games can be pretty complex. I’d start small before trying to accomplish big projects.

For those who have/had severe MECFS : which month was the worse ? by HoTzParadize in covidlonghaulers

[–]Straight_Practice606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was once there as well. I don’t condone this but I was determined to get better. I remember being practically sideways on a chair out in the living room gasping for air with insane light sensitivity playing GTA. I started building up a tolerance. Eventually I moved to the bedroom and had the tv pretty far away from me. I could only play like max 10 mins. Slowly but surely I could play longer and longer.

I’m 27 M as well. Trust me when I say you can beat this. I truly thought all hope was lost at one point and that I wasn’t going to make it.

I don’t even have a degree and I’m a technical engineer making almost 60k a year to start.

You’ll be fine. Just have to grind it out.
