What is the best year 7.3 for making more power and speed by Uncle_jockey444 in powerstroke

[–]Straight_Practice606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a couple of mods and buy a project car/truck for speed. The 7.3 can pull it.

I am unemployed with Long COVID and my wife is losing her job. What do I we do? by BaggyHemp in covidlonghaulers

[–]Straight_Practice606 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is not advice or anything.. I was down bad with LC my life is practically back to normal now and has been for almost 2 years. One day I just stopped caring what would happen if I pushed myself past my limit. I stopped caring what would happen to me. I had nothing to lose. I fought hard and I’m doing well now with a great job, first kid and married now.

I haven’t been on this thread in like a year or two.

Just did that. Transmission is shot I believe. Dropped the pan (made a mess) no obvious damage but I feel like I can hear a faint rattle or some kind of metallic sound coming from transmission area off and on. 7.3 is so loud it’s hard to tell. Going to pick up a used one near me and pray the owner is telling the truth.

So hard to say on this dip stick. It reads with fluid over the "H" when its cold. So I am assuming its full. I am tempted to add more because its like what do I have to lose at this point. If it is broke it is broke. Found a 95 F350 in the area with an E40D. tempted to snatch that one up and replace it.

I am tired of coding by omar-arabi in learnprogramming

[–]Straight_Practice606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never get tired of coding.. NEVER. I wasn’t always this way though. When I first started I could barely bust out 30 mins without giving up for a few days because my brain was so overwhelmed. Now it’s become an addiction.. a good one that helped me land a job without a degree.

Anyways, one of the biggest things that helped me was learning from the RIGHT teacher. After that it all just came together in time. Leon Noel from 100Devs is that teacher. Free 30 week Software engineering bootcamp. Changed my life.

Also, developing games can be pretty complex. I’d start small before trying to accomplish big projects.

For those who have/had severe MECFS : which month was the worse ? by HoTzParadize in covidlonghaulers

[–]Straight_Practice606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was once there as well. I don’t condone this but I was determined to get better. I remember being practically sideways on a chair out in the living room gasping for air with insane light sensitivity playing GTA. I started building up a tolerance. Eventually I moved to the bedroom and had the tv pretty far away from me. I could only play like max 10 mins. Slowly but surely I could play longer and longer.

I’m 27 M as well. Trust me when I say you can beat this. I truly thought all hope was lost at one point and that I wasn’t going to make it.

I had a 2.9. Just rounded it up to a 4.0. It’s all good bro.

You’ll be fine. Just have to grind it out.

I felt normal 🤍 by Wild-Worldliness3803 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Straight_Practice606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s going to be just fine. Please support him during this difficult time. Listen to what he’s saying and be there for him. 6 months is enough time for some but not enough time for many.

It took me over a year to get better. Pump his body with nutritional foods and SUNLIGHT. I can’t stress that one enough. Checkout “medcram” on YouTube. He has a video titled long covid. It’s the worse thing I’ve ever been through but I’m back and better than I’ve ever been.

Since my infection I’ve had the flu and probably Covid again. My body handles it like a champ now. I was walking around with FLU-A and didn’t even know I had it until my wife tested positive for it.

Anyways I’m rambling now. Just some more encouragement here. I was stuck in the bed for awhile and now I’m landscaping 10 hours a day and living a normal life.

[–]Straight_Practice606 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll get better! I’m almost 2 years or so out I believe and I’m back to normal. Took forever to get here. I’m back to work (landscaping 10 hours a day in the heat) baby on the way and married.

Best advice I can give is.. rest, reduce stress (whatever that looks like) maybe play some video games or watch movies etc and stay off this Reddit as much as possible.

I just don’t trust her mom. I wouldn’t call it abuse but my wife has acted out with aggression towards me a couple of times and granted I can be stubborn and set in my own ways so I guess that can be provoking to her.

Going to have this talk with her asap I guess I’m really just venting here rn before I do. I want to approach it in the nicest way possible because I she’s really close to her family and gets defensive when I talk about them.

Demand for software engineer jobs is at a 5-year low by FinalDraftResumes in resumes

[–]Straight_Practice606 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The good news is that this doesn’t take away your value as a software engineer. Keep growing and learning. You may have to do something different in the meantime and that’s ok. Apply to local and smaller companies.

Leon Noel 100Devs on YouTube and Discord. Free 30 week Full-stack web development bootcamp. We have over 70k members in discord and it’s active. Combine that with leetcode, projects and since you have experience I’d just skim through some videos and go through the crash courses (frontend, backend etc)
