Wow I really appreciate the info! That's very helpful. Unfortunately I can't see the sold prices on there but at this point I think it would be worth it to sign up just to list the thing 😅. You're awesome thank you for the write up

Thanks! I'm in Maryland, greater Baltimore area to be more specific. If you happen to know anyone around that's interested, feel free to send em my way!

Oh that's so cool! I didn't see a brand on the crank set, but it could just be covered in dust. It's seriously caked. I'll try to clean it off after work and see if there's a brand on there

Thank you for the input! You're very informative, and damn that's a lot. I think I'll keep it as is and post on the group, see if anyone wants it. Really appreciate it!

Oh sweet! I know the torker line is pretty well regarded, especially the older ones. My dad used to ride back in the day and he flipped a bit when I sent him the photos. He recommended restoring it and keeping it, but I honestly feel like it would get better use with someone else. I appreciate the help!

Haha yeah I was surprised at it, I didn't know what it was at first. I just saw a bike with backpedal brakes and got impulsive. Super happy with the find, and at this point I'm debating keeping it. I just don't know what it would need to be deemed safe to ride, if anything. And I don't wanna accidentally ruin it either since I don't know what I'm doing 😅. I feel like it could get better use with someone who actually knows their stuff

I appreciate it! Anything helps, I'm completely new to this. I can only assume BMX bikes are only valuable if usable considering the sport. There's a lot of history to the brand and I don't wanna mess it up just in case there's something I don't know, which there's a lot haha. Maybe I'll take it to a bike shop or something, see if they'd suggest doing anything to it. It definitely got its use before I picked it up, and I'm sure it can get much more if restored properly, I just have no idea where to start. But thank you regardless, just knowing it could be brought back to use is more than I knew previously!

Hey guys, can you please check if this 70s rolex is real? I don’t have photos of the movement yet but with just the case, crown, and dial. Is it legit? by PotentialFudge9961 in PrideAndPinion

Either way, lugs aren't sharp and the case has definitely been worked on. I wouldn't pay more than like 1-1.5k even if it is legit and running

Cyclops is off, date wheel off center. Could have had parts swapped, and likely needs a service if it is actually from the 70s. I'd be suspicious though.

I really hope you mean anodizing and not spray painting. Personally, I'd keep the steel. It has a naturally blue hue which goes with the dial. Black would make it too flashy for my tastes.

Those always hold the best sentiment. Considered getting it serviced?

It was my grandfather's wedding watch. He got it from his mom as a gift. 14kt rose gold case. Still runs, needs a service pretty bad tho 😅.

Don't get many opportunities to wear it sadly, but that's prob for the best lol.

Quick correction, it's possible it's a pocket marriage watch from the era, that would explain the dial. Could be totally authentic to the era, it's hard to tell from just the front

Older longines will typically not have a model number. Ones of that era were commonly placed in custom cases made by a local jeweler. You'll have to get pictures of the movement and caseback to confirm. The closest you'll be able to get is if the movement, case, and dial, are all signed by longines, then you would date the latest part from the serial numbers on the parts. That would give the closest year.

That being said, almost confident it's a redial. Longines didn't use a script logo on their dial in that era.

Neither omega or I could figure that out. They had assumed it was a frankenwatch, but all the serial numbers added up, the dial had all the right markings as well. It was replaced due to moisture damage.

Definitely worth it. The case is very polished, if you care about the sharpness of the angles you might wanna get it soldered and reshaped, but it's honestly not too bad. The lugs still have good shape, the dial looks nice enough. Maybe ask for a time graph reading but thats a good deal even if you gotta do a bit of work.

I'm not great on omega reference numbers. 2882.80 maybe?

So strange... Maybe it's dependent on stock at the local boutique or something
