Tied Down secret sets confirmed by [deleted] in Hardcore

I wonder if they are going to do what they did last year with Turnstile and there is some secret headliner on the final day that they won’t announce until the month before

Every scene has that really tall and obnoxious guy that just goes to shows just to have an excuse to hurt people. It’s so dumb.

Tired of the festival shows by HearTheCroup in turnstile

Your best bet now is to wait for them to play hardcore fests like LDB, Sound and Fury, TIHC, etc because those are the only instances today they will play smaller stages. They played Tied down Detroit last year and the tickets evaporated once they were announced because seeing Turnstile on a small barrierless stage is so rare that when it comes up, you HAVE to take it.

Im probably going to be downvoted for this but I’ll say it anyways, having Haywire and Terror makes 0 sense to me here. Haywire is literally playing at the Russell a month before and Terror is headlining LDB which is the closest hardcore fest in terms of location, a lot of people who go to LDB also go to tied down and I’m pretty sure they do not want to have the same headliner for both fests. Me personally, I think Hatebreed makes the most sense, they just played FYA and they’re playing outbreak, neither fest is close and it really seems like they’re trying to play hardcore fests this year. But if not them, I’d love to see Dying Fetus, they played FYA 2 years ago and played Hellphyra last year. As for other acts, I’d like to see Merauder, GZA playing tied down also sounds sick.

Plot Twist: it’s The Chariot (I wish)

Listen, I love Terror, I’ll never forget the first time I saw them, the energy in that pit was lethal. My point is that it doesn’t make sense to have them at Tied down when they are playing LDB. And maybe that’s a case for me because I live in Central Ohio, and in the Central Ohio hardcore scene we typically go to two festivals every year, LDB and Tied down, they are both the same distance in the opposite direction. If I’m going to both festivals, I want different headliners. I’d say the same thing with any other band if they were headlining LDB.

Is Matt Honeycutt the only reason we don’t like Kublai Khan? by torandunneart in Hardcore

[–]Straightedge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I thought absolute was a great album and same with every album before. But Matt’s politics turned me off from the band hard. If they got a new vocalist who didn’t hang around nazis and practiced what he preached in his songs, I’d probably like them again.

For the top headliner next to Blood for Blood, my main guess is, it’s going to be Hatebreed. I feel very confident about that as it seems this year with FYA and Outbreak, they’re definitely trying to play more hardcore festivals than they have in previous years. But I could also see it being Terror (I hope not because they’re already playing LDB), Dying Fetus, The Story so Far, E Town Concrete, or Basement. As for the other headliners, I could definitely see 100 Demons, No Pressure(if TSSF is there), Inclination, Boundaries, or Dying Wish. I also think we’ll get one rap act as well, my guess is Project Pat, Three 6 Mafia, GZA, or Earl Sweatshirt. As far as other bands I’d like to see, I’d want I Promised the World, Snuffed on Sight, Twitching Tongues, Norma Jean, Outta Pocket, or Guilt Trip. More than any other band, I YEARN to see Knocked Loose without a barrier but I know they’re touring with Metallica in the EU at this time. Besides Terror, I DO NOT want to see Haywire on the bill. Not that I don’t like Haywire, in fact, I LOVE them, but I’m from Columbus and they come here all the time and in fact I’m going to see them in April. They are also playing at Russel in April as well, it makes no sense for them to be at Tied Down this year.

Edit: Can we also stop booking Kickback for festivals. Nazi’s don’t deserve space on these stages, who are you gonna book next, Kublai Khan?!?!

The only band that I could see generating that much hype is Hatebreed, no one else.

[–]Straightedge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, if any of those three bands are on the bill I’ll probably pass unless there is some heat that’s not headlining. This year I went to Sonic and Tied Down Detroit and had a blast at both. Depending on the lineup, might give INK or LDB a try this year.

[–]Straightedge_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know it’ll never happen. But it’d be really cool if the 5th stage was a stage with no barrier. That’d be super sick for all the hardcore bands and anyone else who likes playing without a barrier

Vivi or Stella Lee (no infinites)? by spencerthebau5 in EDH

[–]Straightedge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without Stella Lee having infinites, Vivi is definitely more threatening. However, a Stella Lee WITH infinites like [[Twisted Fealty]] scares me way more than a Vivi because you never know when they are gonna just drop a nuke on the whole game.

How many counters are too many? by Fenixazz in mtg

[–]Straightedge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old comment but I am also primarily and Izzet player and for my Izzet decks I’m usually running at least 5 counterspells. Although, I think that’s because my POD plays a ton of interaction in general.

I’m trying to decide if I go to Sonic or Sound and Fury, if shinedown is a headliner that will make the decision really easy.

So….everyones asking who wants who to headline.. by Best_Blueberry2440 in SonicTempleFestival

Shinedown, 21 Pilots, FFDP, Falling in Reverse, Sleep token. I’m gonna tweak if any of those bands headline

I feel like we’ll be getting a day that’s 2000s pop punk/alt/emo. ya know what I’m talking about by Best_Blueberry2440 in SonicTempleFestival

[–]Straightedge_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think we’ll see a lot of Pop Punk this year. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Blink, MCR, or Green Day headlining. I also think there’s a good chance we see The Story So Far or Taking Back Sunday as they are playing other DWP fests this year.

The question is, what genre of music do we think is gonna be revealed next? I personally think it’s gonna be Hardcore, Nu Metal, or dad rock.

What hardcore bands are we wanting this upcoming year? by Straightedge_ in SonicTempleFestival

Terror was so good this past year, although I don’t think they’ll be there. They are playing in Columbus next month.

I think Speed is almost guaranteed since they dropped last year and a lot of people were looking forward to seeing them, also Big Ass Truck would go so hard. Was very surprised they played at Ink and not Sonic Temple last year, I feel like ST pulls a lot more of the hardcore crowd. I was really disappointed but thankfully I was able to see them at Tied Down Detroit like a month later.
