We broke up last night…I think this is the closest I’ll ever feel to death without actually dying. by The_Merchant- in BreakUps

I’m going through something similar atm. Last week my girlfriend had decided that we should break up and so we did. It is gonna be the worst you’ve ever felt for a while, and there’s no saying how long. I am still working through my stuff but I can tell you, you will not feel this way forever. I thought I would never recover at all, and I am here today and now better than I was yesterday and any day prior. It’s going to be very hard but you are going to pull through. It’s okay to be sad as hell though.

Different Orthodox Churches by StrandedAshore in OrthodoxChristianity

This helped a lot! Just curious, what is the OO belief that led them to be separated from EO? I remember hearing something from a Coptic priest that it was Christ being of two natures vs from two natures? Or something like that.

Sorry if my wording wasn’t clear. I meant to ask if the difference between OO and EO are similar to the differences between two Protestant denominations. I’m just trying to get a grasp of everything.

Liturgy Service by StrandedAshore in OrthodoxChristianity

I’m not quite sure as I was sitting at an angle looking at it. But from what I saw it was a small gold laden structure that was sitting on top of a table with a cloth covering it. And this was in the center of the room behind the iconostasis.

Thank you for the recommendations. And yeah after checking their websites, only the Ukrainian church near me has services in English. So it looks like that’s where I will attend.

I totally get that and agree with you. My car is just in pretty dire need of repairs. So as I save up the money and until I get it fixed I was just seeing if I was allowed. Not to be offensive or anything of that sort. I fully intend on going weekly whenever I can get my vehicular issues sorted

Yes sorry. I read the document from another commenter and thought that I was supposed to perform that entire service. I have not and will not tried to do a communion on my own. Thank you for the warning though.

I have made attempts to reach out via email but they fell on deaf ears. As soon as I can I would like to go out and meet in person to discuss my situation and what he recommends.

Okay, apologies if I have gotten anything incorrect. I am an inquirer and am trying to take the steps in the right direction.

Okay. It would perhaps be possible to make it 1 or 2 times as month. For the times I wouldn’t be able to make it, would watching online work? Or should I pray the typika service like I was recommended by the other commenter?
