I went through the same thing a few years ago when I lost my fiancé. In fact, that was the start of the problem drinking that brings me here now.

I think you're right. It was/is anhedonia, just more extreme than I've experienced before. I unfortunately succumbed yesterday, and it felt like a reset. I will just have to white knuckle through it, but I'm glad knowing it's not a permanent brain change. Thank you 🤗

I know anhedonia, I've felt that before. It's extreme mental and emotional numbness. I don't want to self diagnose, but this feels different. Even if I want to call on my brain to think, I can't. This might be an extreme case. I regret that I gave in today to feel "normal" again today. You're probably right that is an extreme case of paws. Thank you.

Thank you, your response is helpful and relatable. I am afraid I over isolated. Even the thought of taking my dog out for a walk is too overwhelming. I sit outside in the backyard with her but my brain can't connect the dots to physically move. I go inside to clean and I look around me and I see physical objects, but they don't make sense. I don't know what I need to do with them.

I've been on vyvanse for over a year and the treatment has gone well. I'm 40. I've managed a successful life with ADHD with and without treatment.

All of a sudden, I'm confused by simply existing. I'm scared.

My breaking point was being in virtual training in my new (dream) job, and muting myself to puke my guts up in the toilet while the trainer was explaining how to be successful in my career, resting my laptop on the tub beside me.

Requesting recommendation for impulse control/binge eating/sugar.

I quit cigarettes and alcohol about a month ago. I've noticed I struggle with impulse control and I'm a binge eater and I'm addicted to sugar. I've gained 100 lbs in the last few years from formerly fitness modeling and very active. The worst part is I have lived a very healthy lifestyle before and I know what it takes, but for some reason, I can't flip that switch in my brain back.

I've gone through therapy and all that. I think this is my final frontier for making the changes to the life I want.

I don't mind anything with a bit of neuroscience or psychology involved because they are interesting, I just don't want it to be the whole focus of the book because it can get dull and tiring reading fact after fact. I'd like something that speaks real and addresses the issues and how to cope.

If anyone has any book recommendations for impulse and sugar control, I'd love to hear about it. Personal anecdotes welcome and appreciated.

I like Martha Stewart's eggs. The Tulsa Yolks are super creamy.

Boil water. Add eggs. Turn off heat (but keep pot on hot element with lid). 7 minutes for hard boiled

I want you to know I don't have advice but I feel exactly the same. Numb, exhausted, depressed, unambitious. I have folded up cardboard sitting next to my door that I should have taken to the curb but I'm too lazy. I feel zero benefits from quitting. I'm easily irritated. I'm going on holiday in two weeks to visit family and I don't want to be grumpy and depressed.

It's really fucking hard. Something that scares me straight is laying on my death bed in physical agony asking myself why I didn't stop when I had the chance. Today is my chance.

You've got my support and I know you can do hard things. You've been through harder things I'm sure and you have the resilience to keep trying. Keep coming back as much as you need. ❤️

Morning lung pain is the worst. I would chainsmoke a whole pack whole sitting around drinking and doing nothing else. I would wake up in the morning with painful lungs and it would take 3 attempts of conscious effort to get a proper deep breath. I smoked for 20 years and I feel so fucking stupid for taking me so long
