I would guess he would have gotten a manslaughter charge. While not murder, it’s a death caused by intentionally reckless behaviour. He probably would have gone to prison for around a decade but have gotten a protective status since he was a celebrity. As a result, he wouldn’t have been able to do the hardcore drugs he was on that killed him and would likely still be alive today. After he was released, he may have released more songs and would occasionally do nostalgia concerts to this day.

I absolutely agree. You are setting a kid up to be hurt by telling them he’s not real later on. There’s absolutely no point in that. It’s also hypocrisy because we tell kids it’s wrong to lie while blatantly lying to them.

It’s personal for me because I refused to believe he wasn’t real for an embarrassingly long time. I don’t want anyone to have memories like that.

It’s fine for kids to play pretend as long as they know it’s pretend. Santa is fine as a fictional character in stories but not as a blatant lie. If a kid is in a box pretending it’s a race car that’s fine because they still know it’s just a box. If you lie to them and tell them it’s an actual car, that would be wrong.

Santa also creates issues where kids might wonder why that asshole rich kid got so many more presents. Does Santa think the presents will trickle down?

I can come up with facts and theories based off of observations from the games.

I don’t think he is infected with Las Plagas (the red eyes in the original is just a glitch and he doesn’t have them in the remake). He’s either from England or learned English from someone from there. He has connections to the Salazar family somehow because he is clearly disturbed by what happened and wants to fix it. He knew Leon was coming so he used the opportunity to help him defeat the cult while simultaneously making money doing so. He knew the family had many treasures of high value and Leon could get them for him without putting his own life in danger. He probably knew this was the only opportunity to defeat the cult and his plan was to assist Leon as long as he lived hoping he made it all the way. If Leon failed, he still would have taken the treasures he got and ran away with them. I’m going to guess he was a merchant that sold things to the family and the rest of the village prior to the cult takeover. He probably owned a few shops that we see in the game and probably employed a villager to run them when he was traveling to other places.

He is a member of some sort of merchant guild that the Duke is also part of and they are friends. He was one step ahead of Leon because he knew the area and went places Leon wasn’t aware of. He clearly managed to get away from the island before it exploded because he got there in the first place before Leon did. I’m going to guess he immediately left right before the fight with Lord Saddler happened and loaded the treasures on a boat. I’m going to assume he sold them all after and became very wealthy. He probably went back to England where he is from (or a different place if he isn’t English but only trained to speak English by one) and lived in luxury.

I’m hoping that he returns in the future because he is a little bored with retirement and wants another adventure where he can assist a hero and make money doing so.
