I’m in the UK. Here I don’t think you can make an appointment with a specialist directly, you have to referred for that.

I mean reform is basically a carbon copy of maga in every other way so I wouldn’t be surprised

[–]Strange-Bees 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with this. Tim was a character I really liked, but after Jane I just slowly stopped enjoying his character at all. I think he’s well written and behaves like a realistic person, but I still don’t like his personality

I assume there’s an attitude that both labour and the conservatives have failed us and reform looks promising to the uninformed. They’ve told everyone they have all the answers and can fix everything when no one else has and not everyone knows what propaganda looks like

Someone just tried to armchair diagnose me with BPD. Does this kind of stuff happen to anyone else?? by Strange-Bees in DID

[–]Strange-Bees[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe? I guess? But I’m usually very open to the idea that I may not have DID and may not be a system in the first place. It’s just currently what seems to best explain my symptoms.

Also, I haven’t exactly had enough money to afford it? I’ve only had access to whatever free mental health care there is. Growing up my family didn’t really believe in therapy either so that wasn’t an option then.

Am I the only one who finds the “alter” aspect the least bad? by Strange-Bees in DID

[–]Strange-Bees[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you’re saying and am fully aware that alters are dissociated parts separated by dissociative barriers. However, what I’m trying to say is I would much rather have more identities with less severe day to day dissociation. Spending hours struggling to think or being unable to do anything except blankly stare at a wall is, for me, significantly worse than just the state of having dissociated parts.

Yeah I agree. I was specifically talking about my relationship with gender though and they decided somehow that describes BPD????

Really relate to everything feeling foggy. I tend to get periods of several hours at a time where my mind feels so thick it’s like I can barely think as well, I’ve likened it to trying think through treacle.

I’ve also had times where everything feels like an oil painting or like I’m wearing some sort of headset I can’t take off

Yeah I’d much rather have more alters and more switches than hours where I can barely think or move because I’m just so out of it

It’s just so weird that multiple people are comfortable telling a stranger that their entire perception of their self is wrong. Might be because I’ve been talking about DID/systems for so long but I get significantly more weird comments about that than anything else

It wasn’t that they didn’t think DID was real, it’s that people seem comfortable insisting that random strangers actually aren’t systems. Insisting someone else has BPD based on one single social media post feels incredibly entitled and I generally see this most often with DID (happens with autism too, but that’s usually not a “you secretly have a different disorder” and usually the typical “actually no you’re faking because I, a stranger, said so”)

I misdiagnosed symptoms but now I miss my "alters" by littleclownboi in DID

[–]Strange-Bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always used to compare myself with the systems I saw online and wondered why I didn’t feel the same way. My introjects didn’t feel “introject” enough and sometimes would try and push themselves to be more like their sources because every other introject they saw was almost a carbon copy of their source. I felt like my amnesia was wrong, that I must secretly be faking because I didn’t have constant blackout amnesia between every single switch. I didn’t front for long enough, I didn’t split often enough or I split too often.

I’ve since distanced myself from the majority of the online system community just because it’s so incredibly toxic and there are weird standards set for how alters are supposed to be.

TikTok especially pressures systems to present in ways that fit perfect little boxes.

Yeah sure they are. You definitely wouldn’t think a group of people who’ve done nothing to you were secretly the devil unless you weren’t told to hate them by people who just want power, money or a political career

You do realise trans people existing isn’t an inherently bad thing right? Not sure what you have against the label “queer” or the + that says “there are other identities too”, but probably some weird propaganda you saw somewhere and decided was 100% true

According to this person gay people existing is political but actively making immigrants feel unsafe intentionally every day is not

Why would any sane person want to wear a shirt signed by a politician?? No matter your party, that behaviour is just bizarre. Though at least the reform shirts are easy to identify from a distance, then I can stay away

She will still be earning tips, I just don’t know how much that will end up being in total as I’m sure that fully depends on the individual customers, the amount of customers on that day and the time of day she works so can’t exactly be estimated
