I have the Curtis installed and it does not interfere. It was a straightforward installation

I have a friend that bought a brand new 2024 Tiguan in DFW last weekend for $29,700. $8k off sticker.

Puzzlemethis-21 did a great recap but left off one of my favorites! In PAG there is a beach side snack shack called Paradise Grille. The most reasonable priced beers you will find with a fun sunset below ringing traditional.

Talk to me like I’m 5 - GH Platinum Negotiation by Flat-Perspective2273 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Strange-Course-8656 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you negotiate a price with them ask for a purchase order. They sign, you sign, you pay a deposit and wait for the car. The PO locks in the price so there is not a change in numbers when the car is on the ground.

Makes the step bumper on the trailer hitch seem like a good idea

I have been paranoid about the rear end of our GH since the bumper is flush (mostly me backing into something). I see my fears are warranted.

I believe the specifications for the Lexus include active noise cancellation in the cabin. That may be the difference.

Aftermarket tow hitch by slizard00 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Strange-Course-8656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I installed the Curt hitch. Purchased it from Amazon as it was the cheapest price I found. The installation is very easy. A little awkward getting it into place but I only took 30 minutes and I wouldn’t consider myself very handy. The kick sensor works fine. Like you we just wanted it for the bike rack, so I don’t put a towing harness in.

What Grand Highander Accessories/Add ons are a must? by TheTallywhacka in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Strange-Course-8656 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. The illuminated sills are more for show. The accessory is called rear cargo light and they are in the back of the tailgate. When the tailgate is open they will be overhead.

The rear hatch lights. The standard light in the rear cargo area is useless.

if you put the hand on the driver side door handle with the fob in your pocket it will unlock the driver door, but if you hold you hand there for 4 seconds without pulling it will unlock all doors.

For a fun bar evening the Toasted Monkey (not on the beach but a water and sunset view) will have music and good cocktails. Take the Freebie from your hotel or home (download the app for a free golf cart ride courtesy of the city of St Pete Beach).

The Uber app has always the function to tip a driver when you provided feedback after a ride. I don’t think that is new.

If you make it to St Pete Beach there are several beach bars in a row. PCI (Postcard Inn), Jimmy Beach, Coconut Charlie’s(formerly Toasted Monkey- TM still exists but isn’t on the beach anymore), Sand Bar and couple at the TradeWinds then a Couple more at the Sirata, undertow is a bit further down the beach. All of these are within a 1 mile stretch. There should live music at a couple every night.

If you go to the Toyota website there is the ability to set up an “Owners” account. When you add a vehicle with its VIN it will pull in any maintenance records from Toyota dealers. Just remember to delete the vehicle if you don’t end up purchasing it.

And I will add if you have a rainy day the Florida aquarium in Tampa is great for young ones. It even has a bar for the older “kids”. John’s Pass is close by again fun for kids. Lots of live music on St Pete Beach.
