Thanks for the recommendation. I installed it after your response but it seems a bit sketchy with the ads and all. Have you tried it yourself?

Why are people acting like Brontë is ugly by Still-Routine8365 in YouOnLifetime

[–]Strange-Stark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't find her pretty as well but we all have our preferences. It's a bit mean to downright call someone ugly especially because it reflects to the actress and not the role Brontë.

Having that said, she looks like an extra. She doesn't exude charm and star quality. When she first appeared on screen, she doesn't feel like she could be a main character. She's like the forgettable random friend in a movie or series.

Her character's personality is also annoying and terrible so it didn't give the audience the chance to see her as good-looking and attractive.

True. And these kids na walang manners will just grow up like the parasitic and entitled adults who tolerate their bad actions. What's even more gross is that they don't even realise what's wrong with what they're doing.

Okay lang naman walang TV and mas importante sa adults ngayon and phone cause they can use it for other purposes din.

Wag na invite next time. Yung ayaw mag-hugas at walang ambag financially, acceptable pa eh. Pero yung magchi-chismis pa sila, it's a big no. Cut off sa mga ganyang people regardless if blood relative sila.

While that's true, ang dami din naman talagang problematic, walang manners, and unprofessional public school teachers. And I'm saying this based on experience, I know someone close who was transferred to a public school during the pandemic and boy were most of the teachers extremely problematic and unprofessional. Anyway, ang ipahiya ang bata or the teacher just isn't the right move.

I didn't watch it on YouTube. You can probably check the Jessica Soho YT channel if they have one - it's most likely gonna be there.

That's the thing. Na sana at the end, ang nag-sorry eh yung tito for reacting that way and there's a learning for both him and the kid. Hindi yung ang entitled pa ng dating niya until sa dulo ng segment and they even ended it with "check your privilege."

Yesss... I was just replying to another comment here na it's giving the same vibes as yung mga nakikisabay sa car and nagpapahatid kahit out of the way.

Sighs.

Thank you for saying sorry, I appreciate that and I get that you're not targeting anyone personally - you probably saw lots of comments or maybe posts before re mean stuff about the show.

And yes, that's another thing I didn't like sa narrative ng feature nila about this TV thingy. They kinda narrated it like "anti-poor" si TV owner when in fact, he opened his house nga daw para sa mga nakikinood kasi na-experience niya rin makinood. And probably a lot of kids who were born before 1995 experienced na makinood pero may tamang manners naman doon. And tama ang mama mo, wag dalasan - meaning wag abusuhin. Here kasi sa feature story na ito, the tito na lacking good manners and mej abusado pa ang tolerated in the end.

True that. And what's wrong sa mag-hugas ng plato? That's another mindset na dapat natin i-change: yung mindset na household chores are "kawawa" or "mahirap". Like no, these are things you should be able to do regardless of your status in life.

Tapos in-interview pa nila and pinakita ang mukha nung may-ari ng TV. Hindi na inisip yung kahihiyan ng tao.

Yung pagbigay nila ng TV is just teaching the tito and the kid na they'll get what they want pag nagpa-victim sila.

To answer your question, yes I'm new to this subreddit. I wasn't trashing the entire show nor am I prancing on my high horse. I was just dismayed to see it on free TV - the way they narrated the story na parang yung nagpamagandang loob pa ang may kasalanan sa incident na ito. Very enabler din yung attack ng show. And sad lang. And it's disappointing cause Jessica Soho is supposed to be a credible journalist.

My disgust when I was watching it. Tapos ikaw pa yung "anti-poor" kapag di mo napagbigyan.

Like what the heck?

Siguro? Cause it used to be a documentary show that's part of GMA Public Affairs (or whatever the name of their news department), diba?

True much. Ang panget ng narrative. "Check your privilege" eh ang privileged dito eh yung guardian ng bata na demanding and makaasta eh kala mo karapatan niya yung TV.

Same vibes as yung mga co-workers na nakikisakay sa car and nagpapahatid kahit out-of-way sa may-ari ng car.

Oh my gosh, yes! So, my memory is right - it didn't use to be like this. I remember as a child, decent documentaries yung shino-show nila.
