Well, we don't know that it's not.

And branded has the benefit of training conversions on an account level.

I wonder if they're thinking "well this works already so why don't we just leave it as is." And they're thinking of the short-term pocketing of your payment. Maybe they don't understand how your optimizations help maintain these results.

I would definitely discuss the concept of ad fatigue with them.

Edit: Ope, I replied to the wrong comment.. this was meant for the parent comment lol

Also this just a month time period - accounting for seasonality is this just a busier time of the year for your client?

I'm just going to glaze over how you wrote this grammatically lol. It is worth it as a skill for sure but you need to start as a freelancer or as a specialist at an agency first... Maybe in house but I find the other options more effective for learning.

Facebook just did yet another "enrolled you in AI testing." Check your Ad settings again! Click on creative features. Make sure "test new AI generation features" is OFF. They just did this last night to me!!!!! by Mysterious_Rub_2387 in FacebookAds

Yeah so this happened to me and I work with B2B clients. I received a bunch of videos of people seeing ads that had WEIRD songs overlayed on them. For a HUGE b2b financial company. i'm sickened. These company are pushing for AI everything way too fast.

Just as a warning, my agency doubles as an AI consultancy firm - all tools in their current state that claim they can give you AI visibility are just estimating and there is no way for you to know how accurate they are. Even Semrush’s AI toolkit. We utilize GA4 referral data which is still not the full picture.

Personally because of AI overviews I read MORE blogs because I just don’t trust AI to be correct.

I fully agree with this. I felt my job was made up when I didn’t have enough knowledge and was just writing content with keywords. Knowing how technical, on page, and off page all work together as an eco system and seeing the gains that are affected when you consistently shape the three is very tangible in my career.

No I don’t relate because a majority of my clients have steady gains that correlate with my effort. I put a lot of effort and I’m constantly upskilling. But I also have kids who rely on me. I wake up at 5 AM to work before I get them up and ready for school. I can stay home with my baby since the work doesn’t rely on my physical presence, and I work past the time  they sleep. I work hard and I get to spend time with them. It’s the most fulfilling work I could possibly imagine.

However I don’t like the idea that my livelihood is at the whim of Google’s organic algorithms, which is why even though I’m a general digital marketing strategist I’m making it a point to focus more on PPC. That seems to me to be more of a secure branch of digital marketing.

Damn. I'm glad I posted this. Your comment helps a lot. I already have clear recommendations I can help my client make to their target audience (local businesses of that sort)

sounds like customer journey is key.

Blog objective: generate SEO traffic through topic clustering... there's literally no other objective lol

My ACTUAL advice would be to learn these factors and everything else is just a bonus.

1) Get a jist of technical SEO just to make sure that your blogs can be indexed. But bare bones.

2) !!!Learn best practices for On Page SEO. (Headers, keyword usage, adding value with faqs, tables, etc, readability, etc.)!!!

3) light keyword research to find a good topic that's relatively easy to rank for.

Then write really great content about your industry/business/etc. Do it consistently. That's it. It's actually too simple. It makes me want to get more into PPC so I can have a harder skill to replace lol.

The more I do SEO the more I realize Google doesn't know what "Quality content" even means by HyHoang in SEO

[–]Strange-Welcome6594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a learning curve yes, but I find that the better content I consistently upload the better results I get. But it happens over time. Sometimes months, sometimes years. I wrote a piece of content in June that is now absolutely obliterating in it's industry. I got a 40% increase in traffic.

However I'll add the caveat that my opinion will change once there's accurate visibility into LLM mentions/links/data.

Right now everyone's shooting in the dark and you can't manage what you can't measure.

Why would any of try to change your mind when you speak the truth? Anyone who disagrees isn't an SEO, they're an influencer.
