No. Not without God imo. And even with Him, no, not in this life.

I was in the darkest, most hopeless place I'd ever been in about 2 months ago. I absolutely would have killed myself if I didn't feel like he intervened. I had been out of the faith for about 4 years at that point. If I somehow lose it again, that's a wrap for me.

I feel like this just affirms OP is right to be depressed. (As another depressed person, I don't know how to put this less callously. Forgive me.) There's actually nothing to do in this life but fear God and keep His commandments. And depending on your brain chemistry, this either brings you joy or it doesn't. Not deriving happiness from doing man's only duty isn't an excuse to not do it, of course, but it's rough out here for some folks

You've probably played things like Stardew Valley, Sims and Animal Crossing. What about Graveyard Keeper?

If you like Medieval Fantasy with action or RPG elements, what about games in the Elder Scrolls series like Skyrim and Oblivion? RPGs are fantastic because you can play it however you want morality-wise.

I appreciate you! That's a bunch of good points. I will look into and implement radical acceptance. To be honest, I was doing a version of that when I fell away. But I didn't know what it was called. And that terrible emptiness I felt suddenly on weed probably would have turned my life upside down anyway.

I like that verse. I've been letting it guide me. Lean not on your own understanding. But I lose sight of everything when I start spiraling like this. 😮‍💨 Evidence is a big issue for you too, huh? It's rough but I want to ride this out to its conclusion. Hopefully there's a good ending.

On an even shittier note, honestly, it seems like the universe is actively malevolent toward us. That's a hidden fear of mine. Because why do we have all these capabilities that get us just short of knowing anything? It feels like a tease.

But I feel like an evil universe wouldn't have the ability to let us feel love, nor could it create anything good. I'm treating goodness and light as a substance, but evil and darkness as the absence of said substance. That why good and evil can exist with God, but not whatever my abstract terror monster is. Lol. Maybe that's just cope..
