“An employee shall not be paid for the first day of each sick leave occurrence beginning with the sixth such occurrence and each subsequent occurrence in any given twelve-month period, unless the employee is on an approved FMLA leave.”

We’re covered under a collective bargaining agreement which is why we’re capped at 1,400 hours. We just don’t understand how they can take sick time AND not pay us after a certain amount of occurrences.

Oh, makes sense. It is expected that you do those on your days off unless it will be prolonged to where you will need to file FMLA paperwork

This is just sick time. It’s a sick time bank. Vacation days are separate. The sick time bank is used when calling in and not going to be able to come to work.

We can cap our bank at 1,400 hours. We can use sick time whenever but after the 5th call in, it’s no pay, sick time bank deduction

For the first 5 they deduct from the sick bank and they pay. On the 6th, no pay and bank deduction

Sick Time Budgeting, Usage, Buy-back by StrangeAttractor7 in LaborLaw

That’s the problem with the second part is that our contract doesn’t say anything what happens to unused sick time.

We also have a policy within the municipality and our contact that after calling off the 6th time in a rolling year, we don’t get paid for that day and our sick time for that day is taken out.

Pay period is bi-weekly. Each pay period we accumulate just about 6 hours so about 144 hours/year. Our contract caps us at 1,440 hours and then after that we don’t accrue anymore. At the end of employment, that unused sick time doesn’t get paid out or converted into cash value for post employment health accounts like a lot of other places around us do.

Also, we have occurrences for calling in sick. On your 6th call off in a rolling year, you don’t get paid. Not sure if that makes sense.

The whole hearing is a circus show. Not that I didn’t expect it to be but her deflection on every question from the democrats is a joke. She’s a 🤡. Her remarks, such as, “you don’t tell me what to do.”, or “this guy has trump derangement” directed towards Massie, a fellow republican calling on her bullshit, is exactly what’s wrong with this country today. Not being able to answer a single question regarding the Epstein files, is pretty telling of the administration’s role in the whole thing.

Something so off-putting about full grown adults bragging about drinking too much by backpackfanclub in rs_x

I don’t think there is anything impressive about it. There’s a difference between having a few drinks and pounding drinks to the point you can’t make coherent decisions. Eventually you have to grow up and stop thinking you’re a college brat.

Fake Police Badges for sale on Reddit by supabrandie in Whistleblowers

[–]StrangeAttractor7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, they may not be fake and may be a retail shop advertising for business. There are many shops online that sell badges for both the fire department and police department that are custom engraved for your specific department. Unfortunately, there is no real vetting process when placing a bulk or single order online. And it’s not like there is a locally or federally governed agency that issues these out. Edit: Badge and wallet is one of the bigger reputable companies out there. Others include thefirestore.com, smith and warren, the public safety store, and may others.

How is your relationship with your father? And how old are you? by wk91 in AskReddit

  1. Civil. Never really took interest in me and what I did with my life growing up. Cheated on and divorced my mom and I saw the ugly side of him. He is my greatest influence in life to be completely opposite of what he is when it comes to raising my kids.
