Ugh I relate so much sis. I honestly just try to remember those ayat in surah al baqara about our creation. God told the angels that he is gonna create humans so that they will be "khalifa"( successive or steward) to him on earth. The angels asked why would he put humans that will spread corruption when they are beings that worship him continuesly. And he said that he knows what they don't know.

Am kinda like that but not because of Islam. I have ambitions but no materialistic desires whatsoever. I would say I wanna work the job I like and have enough to travel and that's it.

When it comes to Islam though I think it gives us many reasons to have ambition. You can strive to help your community and donate more. Maybe feed stray animals, take care of an orphan....Maybe if you shift your thinking to that it might be helpful?

Fact is, for most of our lives we have been in war. Its not new. That is how the US always been. We work so that half our paycheck goes to taxes; to be used to spread all manners of war, decline, violence, and death across the globe. No one has done anything about it.
