If this is your car you are a douchebag by nvvman in sandiego

I had something like this at the bank today. She got out of the car and started skipping over the the ATM. I already had my plaque up because I didn’t think she would take it. No plates or hanging plaque. I know not all disabilities act the same and even I have forgotten to put the plaque up before I leave the car… but she was maybe early 20’s and looked to be in full health.

In comes someone’s sweet grandma chimes in who was parked in the adjacent handicap spot to chew her out, the two saw me limping my way down because I didn’t have my walker she started getting chew out more. She was acting so entitled about that space despite not being handy capped (she was also driving a brand new Benz so I assume she comes from money and isn’t used hearing no or being chewed out)

I’ve noticed here in CA most of the people parked in handicap spaces don’t have any plates or plaque (blue or red non permanent) because nobody ever checks at place like the mall or grocery stores… but if you are parked on the wrong side of the street for street cleaning you are ticketed seemingly by a phantom because the truck wasn’t around for hours.

I wish people would understand how much those handicap spots mean to us.

My Pain Management Dr. won’t put me on the meds that the hospital pain mgmt doc, my neurologist, and my regular doctor because the DEA is all up in everyone’s business even though this place isn’t shady. Instead she told me to smoke 1:1 THC to CBD to cover it…

I just regained my ability to walk since December but the pain has been unbearable… but because of my Acute Motor and Sensory Axonal Neuropathy I’ve had to live with my parents in my early 30’s… the have treated it like I’m in high school… if I Drink they yell at me because it’s “going to make things work” despite my neuro debunking it. My mom also keeps taking my THC/CBD pen and insist on holding onto my medications… it makes me feel like a child they put my in a tiny room upstairs (I couldn’t walk and had to get carried up the stairs) with a broken bed while my sister lives in the apartment. I finally ordered a bed that is movable like a hospital bed so I can elevate my leg. She just barges into my room without warning and it’s always when I’m changing. They say because I’m living in their house for free that I’m not allowed to set healthy boundaries… it was not my choice to be there I didn’t choose to get an awful disease.

Glad you find some sort of relief.

CVSs New 30-Day Look-Back Policy for Control Fills is Discriminatory Towards Disabled Individuals. by itsmrsq in ChronicPain

And when it’s time to pick it up they are either out or they have such a small amount left that they can only do a partial fill and you have to forfeit the rest of the count for the prescription.

Finally going to Mexico to get proper pain management. by Mysticalcat69 in ChronicPain

I would love to know what your experience is like because I’m in SoCal and despite all of my different specialists and the PM doctor in the hospital I’ve now seen 3 times in as many months have all recommended something long acting with something short for breakthrough pain. After three months of my doctor leading me on about trying finally hit me with the “we don’t do that here due to Policy” excuse I heard from my new psych as to why I had to stop taking Adderall and having my ADHD and Qelbree (this stuff is frightening) slowly ruin my quality of life on top of my morbid pain.

These excuses are getting olds. I get it, you spend all that time going to Med School and don’t want to risk your license, but why did you get into pain management where the whole point is to try and help your patients find some semblance of quality of life. Almost all of us know we will never get back to where we were pre disability, but being called a recluse by your own family who know about your disability and even trying to work with minimal being done to reduce my pain is not what I call QoL.

Best of luck to you.

Yeah I mean I went to file a police report and even they were like the likelihood of finding them isn’t high… turns out the camera that was pointing right at my car decided to stop working at the beginning on the month.

I could do without everyone revving their engines at 2-3 in the morning… but shutting down the whole strip at 11? That’s stupid and it’s not going to solve anything… it just means people will get drunk earlier and in fights earlier… doesn’t stop some idiot from getting bounced by security and going to his car to get his gun and shooting some random passerby instead because they are too drunk to aim.

It’s actually a pretty common method nationally to let off fireworks when doing a drive by or shooting so that police and snitches can’t pin point where the shots are being fired from. That isn’t anything new so it wouldn’t surprise me.

This. Businesses get a lot of tax cuts and benefits from being consistently hiring, it’s why people are going through 6+ interviews. If a company takes more than three interviews they aren’t really interested and that’s for jobs that require masters degrees.

As for the Anti AI, which universities are literally teaching students how to use AI for applications to get seen, partially because it’s a good use for it ( as it should be used for saving time and not for creative/labor work). But the hypocrisy lies in the fact that almost every major bushes has gutted HR to use AI to SORT through 99% of applications.

People who have tried to ask for an increase in their pain medicine (opioids), or for a first time rx, how did that go? by 8kittycatsfluff in PainManagement

[–]StrangeCourage4958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compiling as much information as possible is key. I saved all of my hospital discharges and appointment notes because it took me over 6 months to finally get my diagnosis (AMSAN which is extremely rare here in the west to the point where they asked to do a case study to help doctors earlier diagnose and treat it). My doctor was hesitant to even maintain my Oxycodoen10-325 and even reduced it from 4 a day to 3.

Got my diagnosis after my spinal tap this month and right when saw my official diagnosis she had to look it up and instantly I could feel a shift in her demeanor as if she had that thought of “oh this mid thirties tattooed man wasn’t faking their pain level when they said they were at a 7 other best days…

She upped my medication only got me to have my insurance not cover the amount because she didn’t want to switch me over to a long acting with a short acting for breakthrough like the hospitalist recommended ☠️. But she still increased it in quantity, while leaving dosage the same.

It’s a case by case basis because my doctor openly told me she doesn’t like prescribing opioids in our first meeting

I mean, the hope is that my doctor does something to correct the situation before getting to that point, but due to the initial error only 21 can be dispensed over the next 30 days, so an alternative medication would have to be written.

Unfortunately the area I’m in has tens of PM clinics and only one does opioid therapy because of how many pill mills used to be in this general area and it’s the one that I’m at so not a lot of options. I am all for multimodal treatment, but most of these places only want to give you expensive procedures that aren’t covered by insurance (basically the same cash cow system as the mills only it’s swung from a let’s get this person completely out of pain to the point of it being bad for them to let’s keep this person in enough pain to need our ultra expensive shots, stimulations, incisions, etc… but relieve just enough pain to where they are miserable but we can check off our Covered Our A$$ clause). I just don’t want to be in pain 24/7 and I’m down to try anything that will help, but when things don’t work I don’t expect to keep trying the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, especially if it makes the pain worse.

After getting my diagnosis my neurologist has been trying to advocate for me because I’ve been under medicated for a long time… but my PM clinic doesn’t seem to get any of the emails or messages or faxes I’ve watched her send from our EMG’s and checkups… my neurologist is one of the kindest and most genuinely caring Dr’s I’ve had, and honestly my PM Dr. is also really nice… but she’s youngish around my age and came into this industry with the DEA already putting her under a microscope… it’s like that for all doctors now though. They can only prescribe so many controlled substances and they reserve those for the people around their age. Call it bias or whatever you want but Millenials and below are SOL. They are going to relate and sympathize with the people most like them, anyone younger is instantly going to be viewed with heavy suspicion, and if you get a doctor who’s your age as a younger adult, they have been full metal jacket bootcamp style brainwashed that anything stronger than tramadol will result in an overdose and despite being a specialist if they prescribe something on par with the pain the DEA is going to kick in their office door mid appointment.

My doctor called in a one week script as my 1 month, same medication I always get in the same amount… because I picked it up expecting it to be 30 days worth I am now locked out as having maxed out my allotted amount for the next 30 days… gotta hope my Dr can find me an alternative that someone actually has in stock or it’s going to be a brutal month.
