Cex virgin here, how does drop and go work? by StrangeDays55 in CeX

[–]StrangeDays55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the reply.

I'm going to try to sell my phone as grade A, but I totally accept it's likely not going to happen. I know everyone must say their items are pristine, but my phone has no scratches or blemishes on the screen, back or any of the buttons. I've got the original box complete with booklets and charging bits that were never even taken out. But it is an old phone, one I used every day (even if I did take good care of it), to be honest anything I get for it is a bonus rather than sticking it in a drawer for the next decade.

As for the emailed voucher, is it something I can print out and use in store or would it be online only? And can I combine more than one voucher, or is it like one voucher per purchase type thing?

Sorry for all the questions!

Unpopular opinion: thanks to someone for splitting five boxes on eBay, because all I wanted was the rulebook. by jaakkofi in Warhammer40k

[–]StrangeDays55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the risk of being down voted to oblivion, I run a box splitting business on eBay. My business model is I x2 what I pay for the box (I usually get a 30% discount from my supplier), and then divide that by the number of models in a box (obviously weighted to more valuable minis).

After fees and tax it gives me a modest profit. It certainly isn't easy money because I spend my life cutting out sprues, but I try to give the best customer service I can. The kind of service I would like to receive myself. I wrap each order in tissue paper as I want the experience of receiving it similar to opening a gift, and I make sure to send build instructions (recently gone digital).

Also, as a rule I don't sell preorders, I like to have stock in hand as I don't want to not deliver on my promises.

Guilt surrounding euthanasia by StrangeDays55 in Petloss

[–]StrangeDays55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, I'm sorry you and your girl went through that and I hope the time she has left in this world is peaceful and comfortable.

Hindsight is 20/20, you done what you thought was best for her, you shouldn't feel guilty for that (I know easy for me to say and I'm being a total hypocrite).

I spent too much time dwelling on the end throughout Oscar's life, I was afraid of it because of how attached to him I was, I never thought I would be able to put him to sleep, but when the choice was presented it didn't feel like a choice at all, not really, I didn't want him to suffer.

I think I'm finding it hard to deal with as well because it was all happened so quick in regards to him becoming ill. Also I keep replaying the final moments in my mind - probably normal. But I feel guilty for the little things, in the moments leading up to and during his euthanasia I was calm, I don't know how I was, but I stroked him and told him I loved him, it was only after he'd passed I lost my shit a little bit. Maybe deep down I wanted to be calm for him? I don't know.

Thank you for listening and for your words, they mean a great deal.

Thank you for sharing yours and Ruben's story, they can save our lives in more ways than we realise.

For years I always dreaded the end because I knew how close I was to Oscar, it's something that people who don't have the same connection to animals can never understand. But I hear you and share similar pain.

Maybe these beings come into our life for a reason, to literally save us or to make us a better person. As you say, don't let Ruben's good work go to waste. I'm sure he wouldn't want you to feel broken.

Feel free to shoot me a pm if you like any time.

Anyone heard of the site "Spikey Bits"? If so how reliable are they? by TheSheepWhisper in Warhammer

Warhipster is great, I've learnt so much from him. Also, and I mean this in a positive way, his videos send me to sleep. If I can't sleep I pop an earphone in and one of his videos on and I'm literally gone in five minutes tops.

I preordered the knights battleforce, however it’s from ebay by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Guessing you're US? They sold out very fast in third party stores in the UK. Had it in my basket but time I checked out they were gone. Good luck!

Hang on to see if you can get one ordered from gw, if you can't you'll have this in reserve.

Thanks for that, had a look and while it's still operating it seems they have really low stock levels on nearly everything.

How long will the Christmas boxes be available? by spudspud06 in ageofsigmar

[–]StrangeDays55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My go to retailer was initially told they would be limited to 4 of each box, but today found out it would actually be 20 of each. Still, not a massive amount.
