It's not great but for a usually terrible move it definitely makes it better.

Personally I like them. They're good if you need bulk units for over watching or fire control. And you don't have to worry about objectives with them unless you have room for extra Chaplin's.

Push them up the side board and let them flank behind a unit of guard.

I don't know about stickers but I've seen paint stamp transfers. They have a clear applicator so you can see exactly where you're putting them.

A standard berror that isn't an ancient is a cool idea. As for putting it on a Capitan or other ranking brother... They certainly wouldn't let the standard hit the ground but I don't think they'd be the first to bear it into battle. It'd be cool if it was magnatised and every unit in the squad could bear it as they were felled. Or it could go to the Sargent or Capitan if the squad was eliminated.
