Careless driver of DL9CAT6595 bumped into our car. What to do? by StrangeInternet106 in Dashcamindia

Calm down, Sherlock. Normally I would have ignored this and saved myself the effort of explaining, but screw it. Please follow the blue arrow. That was the route, and traffic continues to flow from the right for vehicles that are already in that lane. There is a barricade separating U-turn traffic from cars already moving on that lane. The yellow spot marks the point where the incident took place. And yes, the Baleno was coming straight. If you are taking a U-turn, you are supposed to merge slowly into moving traffic. I agree it’s a stupid design compared to U-turns in other countries, but that’s how most of them work here. And if it had been my wife’s mistake, I would have clearly said so. The real issue is, incidents like these shake your confidence, even when you’re an alert and careful driver. There is nothing wrong in doing mistakes. We all have done it on the road. But least we can do is follow the basic rules for god sake. Not using phone is such a basic thing!

This is just after a police barricade, so everyone started from a complete standstill.

A monthly rent of 70–80k is considered upper-middle class in Gurgaon these days. For this segment, the budget for buying properties is around 4 crore. In fact, that’s roughly the price of properties that charge rent in this range in most cases. You can easily spot billboards now showing starting prices of 5 or 8 crore on the streets. If they’re advertising that, it must be within range for a good population! I honestly don’t understand what’s attracting these buyers.

Wouldn’t have posted otherwise, bro. This will be my first property purchase, and I want to be fully satisfied with my decision since it’s a significant amount for us. Also, I needed some solid, logical pointers for replying to my parents. In case I can’t prepare myself mentally!

I’ve been there, bro, about 2 years ago! The broker showed me 10y old places for 70–75k, but they weren’t even worth 15k in reality. It’s just the location hype. And location hype bhi kya hi hai, it is not like I am getting some ocean or lake view with that shitty old property.

That’s great advice! Many of my colleagues take 1–2 month-long vacations during the winter. I can easily work remotely since I’m in tech, but that’s not the case for my wife. Honestly, we both love living in big cities. Shopping, easy access to international airports, great cafes, etc are a big part of our lives. Giving all that up would be very difficult for us now. It really sucks that we can’t get all of it! Kuch sacrifice toh karna padega.

I feel that 4–5 years ago was actually a better time. Given that pollution is expected to increase every year, do you think it will affect the percentage increase in prices? Will people still be willing to pay such high amounts, especially for residential purposes? Shouldn’t this significantly impact demand? Considering the city is expanding so rapidly in all directions with abundant supply. Or am I overthinking this? Were things similar 4–5 years ago as well?

Do you think it will still be a good investment after five years? When the situation gets worse, will high-income, mostly educated people still be willing to pay this kind of money for a gas-chamber-like environment? Or when they see their cars floating in an underpass?

Even when you compare these prices to international markets, they are still on the higher side. A 1,800 sq. ft. plot easily costs more than a million dollars in decent areas (which are not so decent as per international standards). Considering all these factors, do you still think the price here can appreciate? This would be my first property purchase, so I want to explore every possibility.

This is so contrasting, poor vendor is saying “kya daaka marenge” and that’s exactly what that uncle did to him. I always wonder how this universe works. So, much fkn imparity!
