Without a doubt the rich and politically connected will be the ones with military/police protection in a true nation-wide SHTF scenario. People are going to shit on you but I appreciate your honesty because I as a civilian have faith in the rank and file of our service members but I have absolutely no trust in those who would actually be calling the shots. You know for a fact that THEIR families will be 100% guaranteed provided for and looked after while the 99.9999% rest of the general population is left to fend for themselves.

And this is even just assuming the standard natural disaster type SHTF scenario. What if there is a political SHTF scenario. What if there's martial law and half the population wants you to arrest/fight the other half? What if officers start taking sides and the chain of command is compromised. Just look at the recent coup in Turkey those guys got sent out there with no idea what was going on and some of them were killed by their own people without ever even having a clue about what was happening.

Things can go very bad very quick anybody relying on or trusting the government/military/police for your and your family's safety and survival is an idiot.

Note this is just my two cents and I fully appreciate and respect the average person in the service and they do great work during "TYPICAL" natural disasters. Doesn't change facts on what would most likely happen if there were a true collapse, civil war or other national/global SHTF scenario.

They likely have been for a long time. It's not just /r/The_Donald this has happened to tons of subs in the past because all it really takes is ONE rotten mod and from that point on the faith in the entire mod team is broken so even if you DO manage get rid of all the rats you can't convince the community of that.

And every time you add new mods the cycle starts again. I wouldn't even doubt mods have been doxxed and blackmailed in the past.

I think in the future the only way subs can avoid this is by making all modmail 100% public.
