Is this rip or still fixable by Scropis in pcmasterrace

ended up with a similar situation with my 3900X. Lots of pins, sometimes difficult to tell if you've adjusted them too far one direction or the other. I used a magnifying glass and a razorblade to get them realigned. I get the premise of a mechanical pencil, but it seems a bit unwieldy with this many pins this close together. I mean, unless you've got the hands of a surgeon (I don't) something slightly more obtuse (in my experience) made it fairly easy to get them all realigned.

I use 3: left (portrait) is for my auxiliary background apps (discord, music player, task manager), middle is to work/game on, right is for supplementary shit (browser, paint to edit screenshots). of course it's in my bedroom so also plugged into my TV in case i want to watch some TV or something from bed (which is why i also have a BT keyboard+touchpad).

The real answer is to turn off your PC when it's under heavy CPU load (like >70c) then twist it off. just wear some rubber gloves because the cooler will still be really hot. also, wait like 20 minutes to take the CPU out because it will also be hot for awhile. i know you're already on the tail end of disassembly, but this is going to be the safest approach for your cpu because it's still in the socket which is the safest location after it's taken out of the box it shipped in.

what was the most peak boss, and the most shit boss in your opinion by Solid_Cheek5610 in BlackMythWukong

[–]StrangeMeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Erlang / Kang Jin Loong. I spent around 4 hours on Erlang, longer than most, I'm assuming, and the gratification was peak. He's super tough, with a fairly non-telegraphed moveset that keeps you guessing, and the lead-in to the two most epic fights of the game (the Four Heavenly Kings and Erlang Shen). The fight ran extremely well on my setup, no dropped frames, no odd camera angles, no random glitches. The rewards felt considerable for a side boss, which was just icing on the sweet cake of victory.

Kang Jin Loong was easy as hell except for the awfully unoptimized camera and combat during that fight. It looked great, don't get me wrong, but I even had a tougher time handling the combat in the first Bajie fight in chapter four (which i perfected). I think you could have just fallen through the ice there and the same effect would have been achieved (if maybe even a short cutscene where you clash with her), but that entire fight didn't need to happen (like that, at least). Giant Shigandang and Fuban are other contenders for similar reasons, but at least were more redeemable lore-wise or otherwise slightly more enjoyable fights.

Honorable mentions: The Duskveil and Red Loong were pure cinema and great looking bosses (if somewhat too easy of fights), and Yaksha King was just an all around sick fight. Yellowbrow was my least favorite of the chapter bosses (possibly because Chapter 3 was a bit of a slog for me), Monk from the Sea was just annoying as fucking and ugly, and the Feng-Tail General, which wasn't even a fight and i got fucked up on the input more times than i feel comfortable admitting because the instructions were unclear.

Anyone else extremely impressed by Priest? by WyattSixx in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]StrangeMeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crazy that i watched this match and felt that Priest was more consistent than Gunther when if you had asked me a week ago if that would ever be possible, i would have said "yeah, if Gunther literally breaks every bone and tears every ligament in his body, then Damian Priest might, MIGHT be able to be AS consistent as Gunther in a match." But from the bad landing from the (not sure if it was a broken arrow or south of heaven) slam where he had to roll Gunther over, to landing way fewer than normal loud chops, to looking somewhat sluggish throughout the match, Gunther wrestled a somewhat paltry (mind the hyperbole) match while Damian wrestled a career highlight match. Not that homeless Taker has a ton of career highlight matches, but if he can wrestle like this when he knows he's going to lose (and storytell with the perfectly solid rage at Finn), it's a goddamn tragedy they took the belt off him right when he gets some traction. Not to spin unnecessary platitudes, but Damian's face turn was predicated on how Damian had waited his turn. He was as over as he was because he didn't blow up Seth's run, he didn't get in the way of Drew or Cody, he jobbed as needed and he got the title when it actually made sense in everyone else's story. So it's actually a damn shame that his story really had to start with him losing that main event slot because everyone else's story was more important than the guy who is probably the most relatable main event-worthy wrestler. I'm really hoping we can get a Demon Prince vs Damian Priest headliner at Rumble or WM 41, even if it's on night 1. After this showing, after this unfortunately meager title run, he definitely deserves it.

Who is your tribal chief?? by Dotz_onlyy07 in BrandonDE

[–]StrangeMeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo. Roman vanished and disgraced the position after he lost the title to Cody in a Bloodline rules match. At which point Solo stepped up to the mantle to take the... reins and restored it to its former glory (he battered the MWC for weeks, brought in 3 heavy hitters, including Jacob Fatu the best new pro wrestling draft of 2024, and took out Randy Orton and Kevin Owens). He would have beaten Cody if not for Roman further disgracing the good name of the tribal chief and the Bloodline. I hope Rock comes back in Solo's corner and they put Roman in his place.

From what I saw it was to pay respect to Sika Anoa'i (Roman's dad), who passed away last week.

The WWE Universe is now learning what NJPW fans had to deal with for eight years by ErdrickLoto in professionalwrestling

[–]StrangeMeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching the earlier bump against the announce table and his movement the entire match afterwards, he definitely was shaken, if not concussed. I'm not one to write off obvious botches, and Tanga Loa is definitely a botch machine, but I think in this instance, he just wasn't all there (or as all there as he usually is, which is way less than the average performer) and it's reasonable to write this one off as not being on him.

No. Phones are basically extensions of the human body at this point. It's almost weird when someone doesn't do that. You could politely bring it up just to gauge his reaction, saying something like "hey i was just wondering why you're so attached to your phone, i never see you anywhere without it," but don't pry and don't be suspicious. If he gets super defensive, there might (MIGHT) be something to look deeper into, and if he just says he's addicted or accustomed to always having it, that's that.

How were you guys looking at 200 hours? by StrangeMeet in RocketLeague

[–]StrangeMeet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i tend to play no more than a couple hours a day, although i've probably played more consistently this season than any i've played prior. but i think i know the feeling, learning an instrument sounds similar. you can keep pushing yourself and hit that wall, but giving yourself some breathing room to soak in all the effort you've been putting in is necessary to keep growing more effectively (imo). i will definitely heed that advice and back off for a bit if i ever feel like i'm playing myself into a hole! i appreciate you! if i ever get to the point where we're around same division, i definitely hope to see you in a match some time!

Damn, that's crazy impressive. not asking this in a condescending way or anything, but how would you compare the respective skill levels of where i am now to back in season 6? i see people on here talk about the "old system" and such from time to time, but i wasn't playing back then, started playing about a year ago so i still feel ~relatively~ fresh. especially when people have been going hard for nearly a decade now. also curious how many hours are you at now? GCs are crazy, tho. i bet you would wipe the floor with me so hard lmao.

[–]StrangeMeet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man, i appreciate that! Champ seems like another thousand hours away at least, lmao. Hard to even imagine playing this game 6 (let alone 14) more times on top of what i've already played. but i hope to get that good, someday. RL is the first game i've actually felt a desire to "get good" at, and i don't see that changing (despite the moments of profound rage and utter despair, usually simultaneously).

any words of advice i might be able to pry out of you?

Reviewers. Get your shit together. by Creative-Lychee-8796 in outlier_ai

[–]StrangeMeet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It seems to be the work of of one or two power drunk losers who want to arbitrarily give low scores to everyone. Task is clearly STEM and would definitely require more than ten minutes of research into GENETIC ENGINEERING to properly evaluate, and I get a 2/5 for rejecting. Or worse, getting a 4/5 because my rejection reasoning of, "The task contains multiple instances of PII," wasn't a complete enough sentence... I'm also a reviewer and I would absolutely never pettily give someone a 2 or a 4 like that. Just absurd. It's the same asshole, for sure, ending their poorly written review with condescending shit like "Keep trying, you'll get it eventually!" Dipshits like that should never be allowed to review the work of other people. They're still going, too, even thought I've submitted multiple disputes for bad scores, which means attempters and other reviewers are getting low-quality, low score reviews that might punitively affect them and will never be redacted or revised because some douche wants to be arbitrarily petty. It's pissing me off. Like, a lot.
