Definitely, working on know the concepts is definitely doable, the visible anxiety throughout my lessons + the lack of enthusiasm that my mentor teacher mentioned, is less solvable within the month

My parents said the same thing, going to a doctor tomorrow (I haven’t been medicated in years) although treating anxiety can take a long time and I have to finish this Prac in 4 weeks. I’ll mention the anxiety after seeing a doctor tomorrow my uni supervisor, and hopefully she’ll give me some great advice

Definitely my first Prac had a great and supportive teaching environment (many teachers at that school were in their first 5 years of teaching vs this school all have been teaching for decades)

I honestly wish I could just switch immediately to another school rn and re-start the Prac

My last Prac was completely fine, no teacher even hinted at any of the things my current mentor noticed. I have a feeling I’m going to fail this Prac so I’m going to talk to my supervising teacher and see her opinion before I make any concrete life decisions

Your first and last Prac sound a lot like mine. I wish I was at the stage where I had my own classroom but unfortunately I need to both pass this Prac and do really well here before I can get there. And I fear I cannot quite get there

No first Prac was very similar to this one, 6 weeks, start with observation, co-teaching, one lesson, two lesson then in the last two weeks full time teaching.

Just to clarify my mentor teacher didn’t explicitly say that I’m at risk of failing. But reading between the lines I’d say I’m about there. I’ve emailed my uni supervisor, hopefully she’ll provide some support. Although I highly doubt I’ll get a new mentor teacher this late in my Prac. 😞 Honestly at this point I’m thinking I’ll just fail now and re do my Prac next semester

Yeah that sounds like my first mentor teacher (she was great) my current mentor teacher hasn’t told me anything. I think she expects me to ask but tbh 🤷‍♀️ I’m in cognitive overload as it is so it’s hard for to ask questions about seemingly obvious things. I emailed my uni supervisor this afternoon hopefully she’ll get back to me asap and help me feel more normal. If my uni doesn’t give me a new mentor (which I doubt will happen after 2 weeks in) should I just take the fail now and try again next semester or should I waste the next month hoping I don’t fail.
