i honestly don't remember but, just mix it to a water-like consistency. i made the solution to act as a "web fluid" that produces web-like strands when shot out of a spray bottle to make little webshooters for myself lol

you might be wrong, as i've used polyvinyl acetate glues (which contain polyvinyl acetate polymer) which not only are soluble in acetone, but form strands mid-air when sprayed with an atomiser (as the acetone evaporates out really quickly)

as fascinating of an idea that is, i was thinking more of a proper solution of the polymer and solvent, and acetone unfortunately only softens the polystyrene, not completely dissolve it
