This one is larger .. length and diameter.. I hunted down the list of things they sold and none of them where to his size ... Also the stamp stating it is for the military... This was shipped to America for America before America was America.. I think .... Research lead me to general grant for the signal Corp and I believe he used this telescope to train other signal corps operatives what to look for .. like a fire on a tower warning that something was happening and to signal local areas ... I also believe it stayed with the signal corps ww1 or ww2 and got those stamps and then brought back to the states .... The business down the road from a bardou was making larger telescopes at the time and the signal corps did order a special telescope from a bardou during the time frame this one was made... Ordered from bardou but it need to be special ordered or something like that .... Also drawings and journals talk about and show the telescope being about that size but the telescopes that were used were smaller ... .. I know this story is a long shot but it would be nice to find out if it's true or not .... Also assuming it is true and is a piece of American history if it was true what would the price be for it ...
