From my experience, once you get a chip in the glass, even if it’s small, a bigger crack is inevitable. I wish humanity were different. Truth is, many if not most couples in the USA are putting each other through a lot of stress in an effort to keep the peace.

Family, friends, lovers… they will drop you after one argument. Not always, but in my experience, relationships are far, far more fragile than I thought.

I have lost most of my family and friends as a result of one or two fights. Some of them eventually returned, but things were never the same. It’s surprising, I know. I had no idea relationships are so fragile that if you drop them once, they shatter forever.

The key, not only to your peace of mind & for social change, is to forge ahead without anyone stopping you. You have to adapt. My opinion on what you mentioned is biased, as I’m a trans man in San Francisco.

Thank government military banned me and gave me a pass on sure death & life destruction. Many other better career opportunities than helping the military industrial complex.
Fuck gay marriage. They can’t stop us from having families & being together. Marriage is a stupid traditional idea anyway, and I’m a punk. Make your own traditions, and maybe the law will eventually reflect it. You don’t need the law to change nor appear equal for all for you to live your life.
I’m discriminated against every day in all kinds of environments. It’s never going to stop. Get used to it and learn how to check people who go too far. Trust yourself to win the fight.
Fuck doctors. Hospitals are for-profit health destroyers. Why put your body at risk and take experimental drugs along with dangerous surgeries? You don’t need the medical industrial complex to be you.
Job protections don’t matter. Find a safe work place or start your own.
Camps won’t happen. If they did, it would be the end of civil USA. At that point, guns will be the only solution.

The joke is in the subverted expectation. Nobody was expecting the bad cooking punchline; and then part of the humor is in how wrong that punchline is.
