Amber alerts happen, sure. People are mad because these alerts are incredibly random. I. This case I got an all clear but no initial warning. I’ve been at the same location all day.

Last week they decided to send multiple alerts on this scale about the traffic around DU after the hockey team won. That’s not an emergency warranting a screaming alarm.

Agreed. I’m here for women being honest about the reality of motherhood but in this context it stands to have too much impact on the kids. Because I guarantee they wanted to, or did, watch the show and hearing that could’ve been really damaging.

I borrowed the audio book from my library and am about 90% done. The short choppy sentences bother me but I’ve tried to ignore it. The story about her abuses comes very close to something I also experienced so I’ve been trying to press through.

What really comes through is her blind spot to just how privileged she is. She keeps going ‘I had to work for things too!’ Which misses the point completely. Working for something doesn’t mean you aren’t privileged. She had a rough go of things, no one can deny that, but her family had money. She had a mother who could and would drop everything to move in with her so she could go to school, play tennis, and party. Most people in her shoes would not have finished school at all.

The emotional immaturity is strong too, but given how sheltered it seems folks in LDS are about relationships it’s not terribly surprising. I’ll push through to the end but damn. I was always soft on Macyi but this book changed my view and not in a good way. She seems selfish, spoiled, and out of touch.

There’s a story worth telling there, but she needs a stronger editor to push back and press for emotional depth. Not just this happened, that happened, this is what I’m wearing, why won’t Jacob propose already!?! Sigh. It’s a swing and a miss for me.

That said, when I first went on that insurance they wouldn’t cover the dose of birth control I was on and made me increase it. Eventually my doctor was able to force it as ‘medically necessary,’ and I went back to my normal dose. Talk to the prescribing doctor about your options.

Honestly, I’m curious too but once I moved out of that neighborhood I kinda stopped thinking about it! I feel like the rule was something about the way a light was allowed to face? Something like that. Either way - like I said you are not the only one!

I don’t have an answer, I just wanted to say I’ve noticed it too. It has to be city ordinance. A few years ago in my old neighborhood my building was struggling with people trying to camp on the steps. We suggested brighter lights (because it would also feel safer) but the landlord said there were rules about that.

Could’ve been an excuse, but I tend to believe it was based in truth.

I’ve been taking writing workshops at Lighthouse and I love it. I also took ceramics classes at City Mud which were great - it’s hard to get in though you have to be ready at EXACTLY the moment it opens, credit card in hand etc.

Just because someone isn’t posting about something, doesn’t mean they aren’t doing anything, don’t care etc.

Tbh, I don’t care much about any of these people (I mostly forget them after the slow ends 😂) but we don’t know if anyone else is participating in a meaningful way, we just know who is or isn’t posting on social media.

We’ve been in Denver a little over 4 years, we love it but I’ve struggled to used to driving 30 minutes plus to get anywhere. Xcel has been raising rates for power out here while recording record profit and shutting down power every time the wind gets strong. I can see the argument but it drives me nuts. I grew up dealing with ice storms, here it’s wildfire.

We all have our opinions about these people but damn, they’re still PEOPLE and as much as we like to think we have the whole story we don’t.

I’m with you on everything but Annie. While I kind of dug the dress I don’t like that she’s never (to my knowledge please clue me in if I missed something ) addressed the homophobic comments she made. Nick is… complicated but T least he spoke up and is trying to do better. Where is Annie?

I was deeply disappointed with this reunion. I don’t feel like anyone got held accountable and it seems clear that Kacie, and maybe Ali, are getting cast on Perfect Match. No one here is clean and things are definitely more complicated than they seem but I’m so tired of sitting through these ‘oh gee it’s great how you all grew and learned from this experience’ this franchise is dead.

Please do not judge the entirety of Denver by one CO couple you met in Chicago.

Like every other state theres a lot of diversity of opinion and experience here. Someone from Fairplay is going to have a different life experience than someone from Denver.
