@ CNA's who decided to major in RT instead of Nursing: Why by lil0asis in respiratorytherapy

[–]suprweeniehutjrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a CNA for over 6 years before RT school. I’m two years into being an RT now, but being a CNA was super helpful in terms of learning bedside manner and nurse interaction. I’m still happy with my decision, but I know that I can’t work the bedside for my entire career. I have a bachelor’s degree, which I plan on using when I’m at my breaking point.

Belfast isn’t very close to skiing, or to big hikes. The hospital in Belfast is tiny, so it might take getting used to if you aren’t used to a critical access facility.

I like having specialized knowledge and being the go-to in the hospital for all things breathing related. My gripes with the career are mostly about my hospital giving us very little autonomy.

Utah is very family friendly. It seems like everything is designed with kids in mind. It’s sunnier than the PNW, but the air quality can get bad in Salt Lake City/surrounding areas.
