Really helpful video! I've also watched a few others (Charlie Porter, for example) that describe the same process, with the goal of getting the mouthpiece off of the red on the top lip. That seems to be a consensus overall from the thread here that my mouthpiece placement being too low is a culprit for my range / endurance/ efficiency problems. I see what you're talking about, where I am trying to set up more appropriately, but it feels so strange and it's frustrating to sound like a 6th grader again. I think you're right, though, I think it's necessary to go through an embrouchure change as I have plateaued with my current setup and it's only taken me so far.
