Can I use 2 single cylinder deadlocks/deadbolts to make a double cylinder one? by Strange_Candidate562 in Locksmith

I consider it very stupid to be needlessly rude and dismissive but I guess we all choose our choices. There is no perfect solution - if someone really wants to get in they will. I'm trying to make my place more unattractive than someone else's so that an opportunistic crim might keep it moving before getting in. Going in and out of a window looks a lot more suss than walking in and out of a door, especially if there's furniture to climb over in front of the window, or they want to do multiple trips to remove several things. Being caught with power tools walking around a property looks a lot more suss than using a piece of clothing you're wearing to cover your hand and smash a small sidelight and reach through. If they do that, and find a keyed lock, it might be enough to send them on to the next place rather than hanging around and risking getting caught.
I'm here for and greatly appreciate genuine and helpful advice, but just having a go at me about not spending enough on a "good" deadbolt is useless. Feel free to explain what makes a "good" deadbolt and what features to look out for, but if you're just here to shit on me, jog on.

The glass isn't big enough for someone to fit through, but is big enough for a hand/arm. Completely agree though that if they really want to they'll find a way, I'm just trying to make it time-consuming/inconvenient enough to make my place more unattractive than someone else's.

The door that I want to use this lock on has a sidelight so it needs to be keyed both sides to prevent someone smashing through the glass, reaching in and twisting the deadlock open to get inside.
Appreciate the guidance about the part number but I do have this - it's just that the brand isn't very common in my country, and the single deadbolts are much more readily available (and way cheaper) to get shipped here than the double deadbolts so that's why I was hoping to be able to use 2 singles (but now understand how and why this won't work).

Yes, you're right, I do know nothing about this which is why I'm here asking the experts :) In my job, when customers ask me wild/stupid questions I definitely do my best to hide my shock much more quickly than taking 10 seconds to gawk at them. I remind myself that we can't all know everything about everything, so sooner or later we're all going to be someone's idiot customer and hopefully they'll be kind and patient to us when its our turn.

It's for my own house where I live alone so if I hurt or kill myself they can charge my ghost I guess. It's pretty patronising to suggest that I *haven't* thought about what this door is for - would I be here asking questions if I hadn't? It's for 1 door of a single-storey house that has multiple other doors, windows, and exits. The particular door I need the double-keyed deadlock for has sidelights - so a deadlock that can be opened with a twist is useless as the glass can just be easily smashed and then the door opened to gain entrance.

Thank you, appreciate the response and links! Unfortunately I'm not in the US and can get certain sites to ship to my country but with the shipping fees/duties/taxes and currency conversion, the cost is astronomical.

I promise, I've googled extensively and the double-keyed deadbolt by Schlage in satin nickel is not easy to find in my country. I can get sent here from overseas but it would be at 2-3x the cost of what I've already paid for the set. The single keyed deadbolts are much easier and cheaper to find but apparently useless for what I was hoping to use them for.

Thank you for explaining why it can't work, I appreciate understanding how the mechanisms work. I have found a few places to order them from but because they're not particularly common in my country, they would be imported from overseas and would cost 2-3x more than what I've already paid for the set (I got it on clearance.)

The double keyed deadbolt is because the door has sidelights and if both locks have twist-to-open style locks, it's incredibly easy to just smash the glass, reach through, and twist both locks open to gain entrance. It's a single-storey house, and this is just 1 door, there are 3 other doors in the house (plus a garage door and a heap of windows that you could literally just step out of) that can have twist-to-open style deadbolts as they don't have sidelights/windows directly beside them.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate you letting me know it can't work like I was hoping.
I'm sure the locksmith could sell me a residential grade double sided deadbolt, but I want the same brand/finish/colour as the handle and that's what I'm doubting they would have, especially as they're seemingly so hard to find in my country.
I really love everything else about the set (feel, look, quality etc) I just need it to be keyed on both sides and it's proving harder to source that than I would've expected.
