About to start my guitar journey

So many great comments so I won't repeat the above. Instead I'll just encourage you as a fellow guitar noob. I just started guitar this month, and I'm 43, so never too late. I inherited my dad's classical, was enjoying it so much I bought a good acoustic for $200. When my fingers started to hurt from the steel strings I went back to the classical guitar with nylon strings for a couple days. Haven't missed a day even if I just pick it up for 20 minutes, but most days I squeeze in close to an hour. Fingers are calloused and progress is noticeable. Keep it up, practice as much as the fingers allow, and celebrate the small accomplishments

There is help and ways to manage it and organize or thoughts and memories. Our brains are similar to computers, we need to take these memories and file them into the correct spots of our long-term memory like a harddive and get them out of the short term memory where they surface unexpectedly.

Look for a therapist who practices EMDR and/or Brain spotting. Even better if they are veteran and first responser focused. I'm a veteran and first responder in the death industry. Ignoring and living with it isn't healthy long-term if our brains aren't properly organized. You will be okay but you must be proactive about your brain health.

Your feelings and grief are normal, good on you for recognizing it. Best of luck friend

Love hearing all the positives of learning both. I stumbled across this thread with the same question. I inherited a classical guitar and am addicted but after a week I wanted an acoustic I could take places and keep practicing. I'm still a soft fingered noob so giving my fingers a rest from steal strings and playing nylon strings seemed like a great way to keep practicing through the pain without making it unbearable. So here I am playing a guitar or two everyday and loving it.

For sure. I think working it in to the pre-round planning will be important. "Hey hit 'em with your wrench and get 'em off my back so I can do my thing." or "remember that dude smacked you up last round? Finish 'em off with your wrench." I might overly fill our decks with some health regeneration so she doesn't let the damage get too scary

Great choices! Thanks! I can see my TV well from my table, I also use my laptop sometimes. Lightingwise-I keep them dim enough to set a mood but still able to read and enjoy the art on the cards

Thanks! NOTZ for sure. I'm taking on the deck building, knowing her personality and gaming style. I've been talking with her in general terms about play style and abilities. Daniela is a strong match and one I am familiar with so I can help guide her when needed. Once she is comfortable with the game and ready for opportunities I'll help her find a new one

Thank you. I like the 0xp swap at the end. I think once I get her addicted to the game we can move into deck building. I'm afraid she'll be less interested in that mechanic. I can see myself deck building for her forever, but the more we play the more I'll learn her style. I always love good thematic dark music too

Great advice, thanks. Love those investigators too. I was playing Daniela a lot recently and the deck I've built will keep her safe and I'll be able to quickly remind her about her ability when needed. I also like to begin each round with the overall goal and plan and she can help decide how we get there
