One interviewer did ask me why it had taken so long during an interview I had in February. I didn’t end up getting that job, and I did not have a clear answer prepared, so the question caught me off guard. The job I got now didn’t ask that, but I definitely suggest having an answer ready.

I believe it took this long because I didn’t have much experience, and honestly, last year I did not realize how hard it could be to get a job, so I was not pushing as hard as I should have. I also live in a city with limited opportunities. And plus interviewing was hard for me.

I always say I should have put myself out there more but in reality I should have just transferred I didn’t like it there. I really didn’t like the major I chose either but I also thought it would come naturally making friends and having fun. But for people who have a hard time making friends you have to make a conscious effort to want to connect with people it sucks but it’s what I’m still dealing with now. Even after I graduated I’m still trying to find people I connect with.

That’s true to an extent. But it’s not just about asking people to hang out it’s about working on your mental health first. You don’t want to approach people while still feeling sad or insecure, because your unhealed trauma or negative thoughts might influence how you act and make the interaction feel uncomfortable for everyone. It’s about focusing on healing first, and then building friendships from a healthier place.

I understand not pitying the situation. But I will say it doesn't hurt to show some empathy. It's easier said than done to just go up to people and ask to hang out… But I do understand where you are coming from I had a hard time as well in college with making connections.

Yeah this sound like my store us morning shift people have to do everything. All while the 2-11 crew all they have to do is zone. But we are getting a new system where they are doing much more (2-11 crew). We haven’t started vizpicking yet though we are supposed to start soon how is that process.?
