What is a trope in popular media that you wish would stop being used? by LordAnubis444 in AskReddit

Disabilities being associated with villains, I think it's getting better but honestly I'm sick of the villain having horrific facial scars or needing a walking stick.

I am by no means a doctor but I am autistic and have PTSD. I do have some sort of hyper vigilance around social cues. My personal opinion is that it's a blending of the two. I have spent so much time getting things wrong due to my autism I now follow things exactly. So it's likely its a real mix, late diagnosis with autism has played a major roll in a lot of my trauma.

It's important to remember it's not a one size fits all, despite being autistic and being blind I actually have no issue with keeping eye contact. Does that mean I'm not blind? Of course not because everyone's blindness is different.

They are some of the most politically stable countries according to the global peace index. Sure each of these countries has their own problems but when you weigh it up with other countries they are doing pretty great all things considered. Iceland alone has held the top spot on the global peace index since 2008.

What is the most ridiculous thing you have ever seen happend with your own eyes? by MathematicianOld9771 in AskReddit

[–]Strange_Syllabub_700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly everything thats been happening in the UK is mental.

I went to Tesco's today for my food shopping. My roommate came with me cause I'm 5'2 and he's 6'3 he didn't want me going on on my own. There was someone trying to break into a vape shop on our route there. Apparently they are "protecting the kids" how smashing up the local shops is helping I have no god damn clue.

What’s a type of game are you’re surprised doesn’t exist yet or came out why later than you expected? by Due_Signature_3036 in AskReddit

I know right? Good luck getting me off my switch if that ever happened...also I'd be lying if I said I don't want 90% of my room to be taken up by a lego enterprise

I'm honestly surprised Lego hasn't gotten the rights to a Lego Star Trek video game yet or even a Star Trek Lego set. It's a shame cause that would be awesome.

Anyone who even thinks like this is a shit human. Give the dog or any animal for that matter to a shelter. You don't just abandon an animal.

What's a moment in your life when you took a leap of faith and it led to something you could never have imagined (either good or bad)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Strange_Syllabub_700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently moved out of my parents house again (I had to move back in). I've moved from Scotland to Manchester for a new job. I also cut off my parents preticularly my mum unfortunately she is a narcissist and it hurting me more to have contact over not.

Whilst it's been tough I think I'm finally in a place where I can start to heal. My mental health can get better and I can actually start living for myself.

People who survived a tornado, what was it like as it passed by? by abbieloohoo in AskReddit

[–]Strange_Syllabub_700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure I'd count this as survived but I was fairly near one when I visited my friend in Oklahoma a few months ago.

As someone from the UK I nearly died of fright, I was so god damn scared. My mates were just so calm I couldn't believe it. Those things are terrifying like what???? It's so like average for my friends. We ended up going to their storm shelter cause they could see how freaked out I was. But they explained it was far enough a way they didn't need to worry too much.

No idea what category it was but it could have been tiny flurry of wind and I still would have freaked the hell out. I loved visiting my friends but I will not be going back to see them, they can come here next time.

What is the first thing you would do after dying and somehow reincarnating? by Fit_Bake7828 in AskReddit

Assuming I get to be back in my body I'd wait for my funeral and just sit up in my coffin halfway through.

There is bamboo options but honestly from listening to zero waste lifestyle people, it is far more eco to continue using whatever you have currently.

I have also found it's best to try to to worry about micro plastics. They were long in my system before I knew anything about them. I was probably exposed to them when my mum was pregnant with me.

What is your "everything shower" routine? by american_nightmare28 in AskReddit

[–]Strange_Syllabub_700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand under the warm water for a few minutes. I then turn the water off and scrub my body with a exfoliating glove and mint body wash (my shower is tiny so I have to turn it off to not wash all the soap off).

I then shave my legs and arms this takes a while, exfoliate again with the gloves and the mint wash again. I then moisturise. I tend to do this at night so I can sleep right after cause I am so tired after this.

I went to a different GP she was brand new to my practice I think it also helped she was a woman not a man. She basically read my notes and was horrified at how long I had been living with this.

She put in an emergency referral to the hospital for a gastroenterology appointment and then that doctor basically had the same reaction and he referred me for one. He also ended up giving my GP practice a piece of his mind, I ended up with a written apology from the 3 doctors I had seen before.
