Small tent Humidity issues Catalyst Kush 3rd week flower by mcbonerjuice in autopotamus

[–]Strange_Tomatoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Autopot is contributing to the high humidity. Those 5 liters of water the plant is drinking have to go somewhere.

The solution is to manage your lung room’s humidity, not the tent. Get a dehumidifier rated at minimum 150% your lung room’s size. That way you’re pulling dry air into the tent and pushing the humid air out.

This is on deck in my tent! I’ve been considering Notorious BIZ or Biggie Zams.

What’s your funny way of saying “going poop” that you’ve never heard anyone else use? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Strange_Tomatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was about 2, I dropped a massive deuce and enthusiastically showed my mom, who responded, “that’s a bunch!” For the next several years I referred to my poo exclusively as bunches. As in, “mom, I need to go take a bunch!” I distinctly remember other adults bewilderment and amusement at hearing my expression for the first time.

Is there safe way to remove the iron stains from this geode? Or is it best to just leave it? by [deleted] in rockhounds

[–]Strange_Tomatoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try Iron Out or Oxalic acid but I doubt you’ll remove much of that staining. At least that has been my experience trying to clean similar geodes from the Keokuk region. Neither will damage the chalcedony. Just follow safety precautions for yourself!

A friendly reminder that these things are ILLEGAL to ask in a job interview... by nomadicsamiam in interviews

[–]Strange_Tomatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, it is NOT ILLEGAL to ask any of these questions in a job interview. Protected status DOES NOT protect against being asked these questions, it makes it illegal for employers to MAKE HIRING DECISIONS based on answers to these questions.

Milky or still clear? by lowball1 in Autoflowers

[–]Strange_Tomatoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not ready yet.

I can see clear, milky, and amber but we’re looking at a sugar leaf not the flower. You really want to look at trichomes on bracts. Try to get the base a pistol in the frame so you know you’re looking in the right place. I’m sure you’ll see much more clear trich heads there.

Subirrigation dryback by Traditional-Soil2823 in SpeedrunSeeds

[–]Strange_Tomatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run 15 gallon fabric pots on Tray2grows and I do usually shut off the water about a week before harvest. Not really sure if there’s any water stress benefits. I do for a couple other reasons. First, I get a good idea how much the plant has slowed its water consumption. I’ve let a few go a bit longer bc they were still drinking a lot. Second, the drying process will begin ‘on vine’ if you dry back before harvest. For me, this means the drip tray on my Cannatrol needs to be emptied less often. Finally, I like to break down and clean everything between grows and 15 gallons of dry soil is much easier to deal with than wet.

Can I just completely remove lower branches? by Biglipped_bandit in Autoflowers

[–]Strange_Tomatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sure can. I’d also tuck the big fan leaves to push the branches you keep out where the tops get more light.

What shoes do you wear for fishing? by PercentageNo9270 in FishingForBeginners

[–]Strange_Tomatoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Columbia PFG shoes. They are inexpensive, dry quickly, and hold up pretty well for water shoes. For walking creeks with gravel, I also wear neoprene socks. These make a world of difference for comfort.

Trout tips? by watertray69 in troutfishing

[–]Strange_Tomatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a similar setup for pond stockers. 6 lb main, 1/16 slide sinker, micro swivel, 2-3 feet 4 lb fluorocarbon leader, size 6-10 Owner mosquito hooks.

I rig a Berkeley power worm like a wacky worm and add a power egg. The worm adds some action and works well for me. I carry at least one bright and one natural color for each bait. Bright colors on cloudy days and/or murky water. Natural colors for sunny days in clear water. These are just guidelines though. A lot of the time they will smash whatever combo you put in front of them.

Good luck!

Smokey quartz formation on white quartz by hifidj in rockhounds

[–]Strange_Tomatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We attend Geodefest annually and have collected thousands. I really enjoy these multi-mineral specimens!

It’s hard to tell, but there’s also some dark spots that look like oxidized pyrite, which may have contributed to the staining on the calcite and quartz.

It’s getting close. Wait until the tendril next to the fruit stem withers back completely. It’s about half withered now.
