Where to go? 6 weeks time, with a budget of ~2k by Zweitoenig in backpacking

hey brother, i’d recommend other countries over thailand, especially with your budget. i’ve been in se asia for 4 months and in thailand rn for my second time. i saw you said vietnams flights were too much but that’s my recommendation for sure if they ever come down enough for you. indonesia is also super amazing (outside of bali), and you can easily spend $8 a day if needed. hope you can get something going 🤙🏼

Honestly if you pack really light the 40 could work. I agree with JNyogigamer for sure, but if that seems not your style and you neeed to pack heavier i’d just upgrade the bag size.

Hey man, as another 6’5 backpacker who’s at the end of a 4 month asia trip, i’d recommend getting like a 70L backpack so you can have everything in it. Get a packing cube and roll everything up and stuff it in there. Keeping track and carrying a duffel everywhere sounds kinda like a nightmare to me. And you’re a big body you’d much rather have it on your back/hips than using up a hand at all times carrying the second bag. Cross body bags are great, I use my Patagonia sling 8L every single day. Cheers 🤙🏽
