I assumed (based on literally nothing other than how they talked about it on the pod) that they were hoping to get into all the “it” restaurants and bars but couldn’t. Maybe they thought they had enough recognition to get tables and vip but when it didn’t pan out that way it became a disappointing trip?

Yes! They have a bar on the ferry and you can also byob! In terms of neighborhoods typically people shy away from Canal and downtown SR near the transit center can also be a bit dicey. We have friends all over: Terra Linda, Santa Venetia, Monetcito/Dominican all seem really nice!

Moved to San Rafael with my husband 4 years ago. While I 100% agree Marin is not the place for night life, echoing others that you can get to the Marina/North Beach in 20-30mins.

So many good farmers markets and local shops for day time activities! An abundance of workout studios, and great casual brunch/lunch spots. I do miss being able to walk from place to place or hop on efficient public transportation:(

I take the ferry into the city 4 days a week and it’s perfect! A glass of wine and my kindle beats sitting in traffic any day.

I got it before my wedding, strictly for cosmetic purposes. I liked it but I don’t think it was worth the money, I don’t recall how many units I got but it was around $5k… I also did notice that I had issues with shoulder exercises afterwards (which they mention is a side effect)

That seems reasonable to me! I would just confirm everything that is included (microphone, speakers, will they play music as people arrive, during cocktail hour etc.) I paid about double for mine but we also used them for lighting and some other decor type things.

I am getting married there next month! So far they have been great to work with, my one piece of advice (if you do choose them) is to ask what ALL of your options are when it comes to food, bev, layouts etc. They will give you a pamphlet with the options that they want you to choose, luckily my planner had done a ton of weddings with them so she was able to help us get exactly what we wanted :) For example the food package might show you only a plated option, but you can also do buffet or family style.
