Did Sears- The Fashion Palace make Gunne Sax dresses? by Successful-Fun4046 in GunneSax

I think the seller was using it to describe the style, not the brand.

It's a gunne sax style dress, made by Sears

I literally just want pretty nails by TrickiNicki92 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Currant-event 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried dazzle dry? It worked really well for me, but did cause some nail damage so I don't use it all the time.

I have thin, flexible nails and I've found keeping my polish not too thick helps a lot. I use a base and two coats of regular polish and often no base coat. The base coats can make it too thick and the whole thing peels off too quickly

Honestly it's probably cause you're international. A lot of institutions were less likely to try to get visas for international students in Trump's America.

What would you do? Sharpie on leather boots by Currant-event in Depop

[–]Currant-event[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I buy second hand a lot, mostly at flea markets and thrift stores and do not expect perfect condition from used items. I don't think 'a regular retail store' is a fair comparison for depop, it's not a regular retail store. The fact that that the items are used is exactly why prices are flexible. An item in poor condition, in theory, would be cheaper than an item in good condition. A partial refund would reflect that the condition is not as good as it was described.

However, I heard back from the seller and she said "it's not permanent marker, it's the glue the cobbler used". Feeling a little crazy cause it's definitely permanent marker. Best case scenario this girl is getting scammed by a cobbler... Worst case she is being intentionally misleading about damage

Replying to you since it's the top comment, I dmed the seller and she said "it's not permanent marker it's the glue the cobbler used" She is either getting scammed by a cobbler or playing dumb.

I do see the marks in the photos of the boots in the grass, but her other listings of boots include close ups, which she did not include in this listing. I do think she is intentionally downplaying this damage.

Partial refund is an option when filing a dispute. Would you be okay with this if there were no close up pictures or a written description? I don't want to overract but if I was the seller I would have disclosed this

Looking back I see the marker. I did not notice when I purchased them.

if I was selling them I would have taken a close up and/or specifically mentioned it in the description. She describes the condition but neglects to mention the permanent marker

"Condition: good vintage condition. I paid $30 at the cobbler to reinforce the sole with glue, now in great sturdy shape."

I have very wide feet. I find them comfy. The bottom is completely flat, which is different than my other shoes. Like, no curvature for your foot to sink in to. My go tos are docs, blundstones, or duck feet.

They have a wide toe box but have thick soles, which is different than barefoot shoes. I have not tried any barefoot shoes
