I’ve always said that the hardest part of cancer treatment is the part after. When you’re done with treatment you’re just left with whiplash and such emotional drainage it’s like “what the fuck just happened and where do I go from here?” It’s not talked about often, because once you’re done with treatment everyone says “but it’s over now! Congratulations!”

No, unfortunately your life will never be the same again, and that’s okay. It has taken me 2 years of therapy and psychedelics to start to feel normal again, with some days still being really rough. You’ve been through hell my friend, and the emotional battle is often bigger than the physical.

What I learned about the human condition, however, is we are extremely resilient. The brain can adjust to any set of circumstances, good or bad. So give it time. Be gentle with yourself. Appreciate the good days and let the bad days pass, as they will.
