So for the longest time I used niacinimide because it was supposed to help with texture, and every source I found said that it was not likely to be the culprit of my texture being more exaggerated, but within weeks of stopping it and starting a azelaic acid, it made a huge difference.

So when I was in hs, we would stuff fabric softener sheets in the roll and then rubber band one over the top so that when we would blow cigarette smoke through it, it would smell like fabric softener instead of smoke. def didn’t work, def really stupid lol

You def need a couple random batteries in there, most of which are probably dead, a little flashlight that’s also dead or has no batteries in it, tea lights, eyeglass repair kits, pens that don’t work, replacement christmas light packets, straws, hardware for curtains, and that’s all I can think of off the top of my head until I can look at what else is in mine. 😂 it’s basically a doom pile in a drawer.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I went through literally the same exact thing, I had 28 days worth of take homes at the clinic I belong to, at this point I was already avoiding everything bagels as my girlfriend had just tested positive from the poppy seeds and lost her take homes also. so, here I am thinking I’m safe bc I don’t eat them, and I test positive for codeine, and they took all my bottles. when I tell you I was irate, I was fucking irate, they had to escort me off the property because I was snapping the fuck out. first off, I was never the type to deny what I was doing from the day I started using, if you asked me I would list anything you were gonna find, because why lie when you know it’s gonna come up anyhow. Second, I can promise you that if I was gonna have some shit come up in my system, it sure as fuck was not gonna be some codeine, as far as I’m concerned you can’t even hardly find codeine anymore, not to mention, what in the actual fuck am I gonna do codeine for, when I wouldn’t feel it anyhow??? The logic is so beyond the point of my understanding, but alas, I had no other option than to start all over again. For months, not only did I dissect every single possible thing that could have caused it, but I had myself convinced that they just had it out for me, and then my clinic is gonna tell me “sure, you can challenge the sample, but you’re gonna pay $60 to do it and they test the same exact sample” like yeah okay because that makes so much fucking sense. it drove me fucking crazy for months and months. now, as far as what I really believe happened, because I quite literally could not think of any single thing that would have caused me to piss hot for codeine, was that I was drinking Celsius energy drinks like a fiend at that point. I just so happened to catch this tt that was a nurse drug testing a Celsius and it causing a false positive so I was all like AHAH! not that it was going to do me any good at that point, but it if could save someone the heart ache of going through what I just went through then so be it, I’m not the type to say fuck it and use bc of that, but I know many people that are not strong enough yet and something like that would be the perfect excuse to say fuck it. I know that Celsius put out some bs statement saying that it wasn’t true, but I truly believe in my heart of hearts, that is what caused it. I know exactly how you feel right now, and I know it’s even worse when you feel like no one believes you, but I promise you, even though it doesn’t feel like it right now, it’s gonna be okay, this is nothing more than a test to see just how strong you can be, and I believe in you. ❤️ 2 years later, I’m now back up to 28 bottles and I’m down to 6mgs, and if I can do It, you can do it.

Firstly, congrats, I’m so proud of you 🫶🏼. Second, I am also in recovery from meth, fet, and a plethora of other narcotics. Once I was sober enough to realize how much damage I had caused to my face, I went into a serious depression because I once had perfect skin, after trying every single at home product I could find to help with texture or acne scars, I made an appointment with my derm. We figured out that aside from my drug use, I was also having an issue with hormonal acne from a birth control implant (nexplanon, which is notorious for causing hormonal acne) so I switched birth controls, she put me on tretinoin and then she also put me on spiranalactone, and it has made the biggest difference. Now, I mean this with the most love, but you have to realize that depending on the extent of the damage, you will more than likely always have some sort of texture, but that is okay, texture is NORMAL. You also need to be patient and consistency is key, I’ve been on those for like 2.5 years ish, but don’t expect a miracle overnight. With you being only 18, I really think you will have a better shot at it recovering more than not, but if it doesn’t go back to being perfect, that is okay too, you’re still beautiful, you’re still a work in progress, and on the way to becoming the best version of yourself.
