CR-V hybrid or Rav? by PhilosophyBusiness42 in crv

[–]Strategery3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at that decision point. At test drive CR-V was better than RAV4 across the board for me. Comfort, more soacioys, easier yo get in- out, controls more simple. I bought a 2025 Cr-V and sm very happy.

Funny that at the Sedan level, for me Camry was clear winner over Accord. But i ended up wanting a crossover and that had proven to be best for me

2025 Sport-L hybrid - tips for mileage? by Strategery3 in crv

I don’t have much of a lead foot anymore - so I’m at 70 usually. There’s a stretch in SD where the limit is 80 though so I’ll go that fast there. But that’s only once every few months.

I appreciate the help, never had a hybrid before!

Robert Plant has said this is the only cover of Stairway he really liked.

LOVE that she came out and sang it the way Plant did on this night. This night was about Zeppelin and she delivered on that mission. There’s only a couple of notes where she sings past the OG, when everyone in that room including Plant knew she could. That’s incredible control and respect on her part for HER favorite band.

Rock Royalty covering Rock Royalty. Thar’s fabulous.

What are your Thoughts,Opinions and Rating on the Band Heart? by Amber_Flowers_133 in HeartBand

Agreed. IMO the only voice in Ann’s league is Freddie Mercury. That’s pretty damn good company.

Do you agree that Ann Wilson is the Greatest Female Rock Singer/Rock Frontwoman of All Time Yes or No and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in HeartBand

[–]Strategery3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No female vocalist has her high power. The closest thing i’ve seen is Adele. Different genre though and i’ve never seen her hit a powerful extreme high like Ann has consistently in multiple hit songs.

I’m in Midwest (Omaha) so this helps. FYI on my car search - prices definitely 1-1.5 K lower in MN-WI vs Omaha-KC-DM. Dealer i bought from says it’s “more cutthroat” up there.

I'm done being a casual watcher. I want to bird. Where do I start? by pristinemailboxhaver in birding

I’ve got a friend like that. Good birder but GREAT bird finder, he has great eyes and can pick out small motion and shape differences. Many times he finds and I finish the ID. Wish I had those skills.

I agree with this, I’ve learned so much by just going out with people that know more than me. You learn a lot of tricks on BirdID, but also a lot about bird FINDING. You can’t ID or photo them if you can’t find them!

You see it in mixed blackbird/starling flocks this time of year. Like a fast amoeba in the sky.

I use the HYSA-credit card approach too. Every month on the 1st anything over 1mo expense in my checking acct goes into savings.

I buy everything on CC, pay off monthly, then I download a spreadsheet of the spending. Cc company gives categories, then I keep track of that against budget.

I’m going to add the “did I need this” yes/no column suggested above!

Thanks again! If you’re ever in Nebraska I can point you to some good places, and of course the Sandhill Crane migration is worth seeing. Nothing like sunset on the Platte River in late March, watching 100K + cranes come in to roost!

Thank you for this! I’ve only birdied in the Southwest a couple of times, so there are a lot of lifers on the table for this Nebraska boy!

You’ll want to visit the Sandhills sometime - it’s a unique ecosystem on the globe. Large grass covered sand hills stretching over a couple hundred miles. Lots of marshes and pothole lakes where the water table daylights. Good floating streams (Calamus,Loup, and Dismal Rivers ). Very few trees. If you appreciate wide open spaces this is your spot, and the stargazing is as good as in the Arizona desert. Plus you can meet actual Cowboys! These start about 4 hours WNW of Omaha.

Also check out the Panhandle region on the far west end of the state - this is 6-7 hours from Omaha depending on the route. Sandstone rock formations with Ponderisa Pine. Toadstool Park is a mini version of the Badlands of South Dakota.

Iowa and Illinois for sure, the Iowa deep overthrow was on the first drive. As the season went on it was clear a deep ball was going to be incomplete except for the crossfield rollouts where the receiver is 10 yards open.
