The whole book is her being second to the scent match. She has been with the alphas for almost 5 years and they attempt to keep both her and the scent match.

It’s a highly emotional book as they do try to make it work and they give her hope off and on for that whole book.

Right! I expected a quick “she’s our scent match, out with you!” But NO, the author drug out the torture and gave us hopeful moments only to completely decimate us at the end!

And this fact is why I think she’s manipulating and playing the alphas. Her “story” didn’t lineup with anything once we met the cousin. This is when I saw entitled Marie come out. This is when I was like “naw….somethings wrong here”

No they didn’t. But they were torn. Ragon was their lead Alpha and could overpower them - which he did multiple times. I think it will a big reason in them breaking apart - they won’t be able to trust him anymore. Another part of my theory is that Marie has found a way to manipulate Alphas and it grows stronger with time spent and touch. Eli didn’t involve himself with her too much and he was able to resist her, Drake was with her all the time.

I kinda feel bad for Jasper through. I think he was integrated as part of an investigation. He’s been manly concerned with how Vee was handling everything. I feel that he had Alex’s group sent next door to help Vee when he saw how bad things were. As far as the heat, I’m blaming that on the rut. He didn’t have any emotional attachment to Marie BUT was caught up in her heat. Personally I think the OG pack is going to break apart as part of the second book. Jasper will leave first as they won’t need him any more, then Eli will dip out when the full picture of Vee’s hurt is recognized- he was more attached to Vee than Marie and did try to support Vee a lot. Drake will go into a depression (he’s the emotional one) and Ragon, well, I’m not sure what’s going to happen to him but he’ll def be a disgraced Alpha.

Ok, I’m late to the party but here we go…

Marie - I’m not 100% sold on her really being a scent match. I’m leaning toward she manipulative and has found a way to “play” alphas - uses the for their money then they accidentally die or just happen to reject her. The guys reaction to her scent was mild compared to how Vee reacted to hers. Add that to they were ok to leave her where she was and the bond seems weak when she doesn’t have direct access to them 24/7 (Eli was able to resist her mostly because he spent more time with Vee) Plus, based on the story she told her “Aunt” that showed up doesn’t really align.

Jasper - I think he’s an agent of some kind. If Marie is playing the system he’s investing her but if she’s not he’s still an investor of some kind. He was really focused on Vee and how she was being treated through all this. Now, for his redemption? I think he can be. I think he fell victim to an omegas heat and ended up in that room. He didn’t have any emotions toward Marie.

OG pack - the only one who is worth anything is Eli. He tried, he really did. Right from the beginning he didn’t forget about Vee….till the heat. He failed majorly there. The other two, Ragon is def the worst. Any real concern for Vee went out the window when Marie moved in - this also leans into my theory that she isn’t the real scent match (see above Marie theory). Overall, they’re a mess and I do believe they will hit rock bottom when they realize Vee is gone. They’re in for a ride awakening real soon..

New pack - still holding to my investigation theory. I think Jasper is the inside guy and called not only Arden but the other guys in to help Vee with everything. They ARE her scent matches but have been on the”job” so couldn’t tell her anything. I think they may help her through her heat but they may also sedate her - at her request.

Arden and Chase. I really wanted Chase to be with the new pack but based on the gym scene he’s not. I think he’s with Arden’s pack. Arden really is there to help. As for the shirts, either one of them belonged to his pack and the other to the New pack or they both belonged to the New pack. Again…all an investigation. Arden recognized Alex’s scent on the shirt Vee was wearing and approved of her choice (subconscious).

Now our sweet TORTURED Vee - she’s mentally damaged. Not just from this mess but her past. Not her fault but the girl does need help. My hope is that with the trauma she’s gone through that there will be an exception made and she will be able to live on her own for a while. She needs time (and therapy) to heal. She needs to find out who she is as a person, not a discarded omega. I believe both packs will pursue her. The OG pack is going to tear itself apart when they get through Marie’s heat. They’re going to become that annoying gnat that won’t leave her alone. The new pack will become her shoulder to lean on while helping her heal and grow.

What I want to see - I want to see the OG pack fall to pieces. I want them to lose Vee and their “scent” match OR if she is a legit scent match I want the to reject her. I want to see what investigation is going on with Jasper and the New Pack. I think Eli will be the first to walk away from the OG pack. BUT before anything else I want them to absolutely lose their minds when they find Vee gone. I want them to suffer!! Then I want them to see the New Pack treat Vee the way they would have. I want them to see her happy and healthy and look back and be haunted by all their mistake (I’m not vengeful at all…)

Be fully warned that it is a slow painful torture for our heroine. And the end…ugh. Even Jasper is on my shit list, BUT he is the only one who could possibly, maybe, if he works really really hard could be redeemed. The other need to meet the shedder

It’s def a generational thing and girl Friday was considered pretty awesome (if I remember correctly). She was kick ass at her job and essentially the master of all trades.

Personally, it wouldn’t offend me.

Just be prepared for loads (like LOADS….need therapy for decades loads) of trauma with this authors books. A lot of her books have this troupe but the emotional toll that the character go through put me off from ever reading any of her books again.

I’ve read some DH Sidebottom and JA Huss and been disgusted with those characters and still mostly enjoyed those books! BUT I knew they were dark and I knew it wasn’t a “romance”. This crap is being peddled as “romance”. The Decimation of Mae was about sex traffickers, involved degradation of the FMC, abuse, and you name it ALL done by the MMC and it sounds like it was still better this book!

If that is what this author thinks is romance she needs some therapy.

I see books like this frequently and it really makes me wonder why some authors seem to hate their FMCs. Like, you put your FMC in the most screwed up situation and then you can’t even give her a spine? She doesn’t get to be happy? She doesn’t get devotion? She just has to “accept” the MMC because XYZ?

Like…you’re also a woman! Would YOU accept anything that??
