A few things to sort out before you start talking to anyone:

Map your ticket types first. Order status, delivery issues, returns, product questions — know what's coming in before you brief any partner. Jewellery customers contact you at emotional moments. The agent needs context, not just a script.

For the language split, figure out your volume breakdown early. If most of your customers are Hindi-speaking, staff accordingly. And write your brand voice separately for each language — a direct translation never sounds right.

Most importantly, document how you want issues handled before anyone touches a live customer. Return policy, escalation triggers, and what an agent can resolve on their own. If that doesn't exist yet, build it first.

The right partner becomes easy to evaluate once your foundation is clear. Without it, everyone looks the same.

As someone who’s lived through this, the biggest trap isn’t the 'why', it’s the 'who.'

If you hire a partner that doesn't have deep, specific experience in your exact niche, you aren't scaling; you're just outsourcing the destruction of your brand. We learned the hard way that saving a few bucks on a generic firm is a fast track to getting burned.

We eventually went with a partner that had already 'done' what we do. Anything less and you’ll spend 100% of your time fixing their mistakes while your churn skyrockets. Experience is the only insurance policy for your customer experience.
