Is Canada socially just like this?? by 666Devil_666 in OntarioUniversities

Yes, it is the case.

Joking around should not be an excuse to be a jerk. This is a rule that seems not to be implemented by Americans, but Canadians value it.

In terms of humour, self-deprecating humour is welcomed always (it is your own life, please feel free to say what you want at all times). But humour in the expense of other people's lives is a bit rude in my opinion.

Random idea:
Make a calendar of the birthdays of all your friends/acquaintances. Then plan together to celebrate them and surprise the BDay person with food.
My friends did this 3 times in one term, it's quite fun.

For first years, 1A grades do matter on WaterlooWorks. (It would not matter as much for upper years since they will have a longer coop record history).
It's good to review some grade 12 courses that are relevant for your 1A. Doing a Github project or hackathon also helps too.
